Mike Dunleavy TJ Ford & 25 NBA players to be playing elsewhere next season
1.Mike Dunleavy
-In 2007, the Pacers traded G/SF -Stephen "Just Shoot Me" Jackson, PF-Al Harrington, PG-Sharunis Jasikevicius, and PF/C Josh Powell to the Golden State Warriors for a bunch of Goldenstate screw ups named F/G-Mike Dunleavy Jr., C/F-Troy Murphy, G-Keith McCloud, and F-Ike Diagu in order get rid of Stephen "Just Shoot Me" Jackson who was constantly making the Pacers look worst on and off the court. Now personally even though the Pacers ended up with 2 highly over paid guys in Troy Murphy and Mike Dunleavy in this trade, it still got them PG-Darren Collisen and PF-Josh McRoberts. Yet sadly the Pacers could not get rid of Dunleavy for a superstar like they could with Ike Diagu (traded to the Trailblazers along with G-Jarred Bayless for G/F-Brandon Rush, G-Jarret Jack, and PF-Josh McRoberts) and Troy Murphy who was actually putting up good numbers when he was traded. Now Dunleavy's stay with the Pacers hasn't been as bad as I've made it out to be in his second year with team he did put up good numbers but after that he never really did much of anything just like all the other Duke grads in the NBA aside from Grant "Over the Hill" Hill, Josh McRoberts, Elton Brand, and Carlos Boozer. And for that reason, the fact that next season Josh McRoberts will be a free agent , and the Pacers need to make roster space for other free agents along with Lance "The Staircase" Stevenson the Pacers now officially have no business what so ever of even trying to keep Mike Dunleavy on the roster for next season when his contract is officially up. Expect him to be released by the Pacers as soon as their season is over faster then Jon Fox was released by the Panthers.
2.TJ Ford
via stk.dimemag.com
-In 2008 Larry Brid traded C/PF-Jermaine "JO" O'neal for PG-TJ Ford, F-Meceo Basen, and PF-Radoslav Nesterovic. Because he was desperate for a good PG and more importantly wanted to get Roy Hibbert and a guy who could play the guard position in the 2008 NBA draft. Now although Hibbert turned out great, TJ Ford did not fair well as a Pacer looking like one of the most over priced athletes in the league at the PG position since he has been with the Pacers. Last season Ford came off his worst NBA season ever and was benched and not dressed for allot of games this season when Frank Vogal took over as the Pacers head coach. Don't expect this draft bust (originally taken 8th in the 2003 draft) to be back as a Pacers next season he will be gone from the Pacers almost as fast as Dunleavy. And the only reason he won't be gone faster then Dunleavy is because his salary isn't as high as Dunleavy.
Well sorry folks, I guess SB nation decided my list was too long, I'll update it later.

This is utter gibberish
That said, for all my Dunleavy defending, there’s no way i resign him if Im in charge, unless he’s really, really cheap. Also, Rush sucks. See that “inspiring” performance tonight. Jeezus im glad im drunk.

Definitely seemed like he got abused by Martin.
Kinda like how DC got abused by Lowry… and every other PG he has face to this point. Haha, but seriously it was a ugly ass performance all-around.

Dunleavy's gone as soon as the buzzer sounds for the last second of the Pacers final game
He plays the same position as Paul George, so why does Bird have any business what so ever even beginning to try and keep Dunleavy? Rush may or may not be gone, but if he is, it’s because of his off the court issues not his play. And I think there’s a good chance Rush is gone next season even though unlike releasing Dunleavy & TJ Ford I would not put it on the Pacers summer to do list.

Rush will be here
Unless he’s traded. He’s signed through 2011-12. Unfortunately he’s done a bang-up job killing whatever trade value he once might have had (New Orleans apparently didn’t even want him for free, and Chicago opted to go with nothing over trying to acquire Rush). As for Dunleavy, don’t be surprised if he’s re-signed. I’m not completely on board with it, but one wing player’s going to have to be added, maybe two if Rush gets traded. My vote is to overpay Arron Afflalo.

Like I said Bird wants to get rid of him because of his off the court issues
He’s likely going to get traded someone will give up at least a second round pick for him.
PS.
Dunleavy isn’t going to get any offers what so ever from the Pacers they have not reason to keep him they need his roster spot for young talent and he plays the same position as Paul George. And how bout the Pacers going after JR Smith does that make since?

kinda hard i said all the above
but i would like to keep foster under a cheaper contract
Keepin it KFC as always (Kool, Funky, & Clean)
Yeah I said the same thing
That’s one of the reason’s why Foster’s name isn’ton my top 25 list.

Huh?!?!?!?!?!
Maybe I’m missing the sarcasm, but it seems like you put Josh McRoberts in the same class as Grant Hill and Carlos Boozer.
Also, I think you’re missing some of Dunleavy’s value. I hated the GS trade more than anyone, but the offense moves a little better with a healthy Dunleavy. I’m not saying he must be re-signed, but for something between $1.5-$2.5mil. (which he’ll likely get more somewhere else) I’d say he’d be a good value. Foster would be worth bringing back, but I wouldn’t offer him much more than league minimum w/out knowing more about his back and hips. I really like McRoberts, but we shouldn’t overpay him. $3mil. max (maybe a tiny bit more if we get in a bidding war with someone). Ford has no use. And I’m not even sure this Solomon Jones guy plays in the NBA.

This dude really, really hates Mike Dunleavy
Really. Dunleavy will get offers, albeit ones of no more than $4 mil from several teams, I assume. The only way I want the Pacers to re-sign him at that rate is if there’s no one else available. And I hate Brandon Rush.

And those offers will be a waste of money
no one from Duke the poop that makes you wanna puke aside from Grant “Over The Hill” Hill, Carlos Boozer, and Josh McRoberts ever turns out good.

I love Josh. I seem to be one of the few that was relieved the Memphis trade fell apart...
….but please stop putting him in the Grant Hill, Carlos Boozer realm. I hate Duke. My least favorite college basketball team ever since Laettner stepped on that dude (I just hated Laettner).
But, Josh doesn’t appear that he’ll ever be as good as Boozer, Hill or these Dukies;
Elton Brand, Shane Battier, Luol Deng, and Corey Maggette.
Really, I’m not the least bit convinced that his value will ultimately exceed Johnny Dawkins, Danny Ferry, Christian Laettner, Chris Duhon, Mike Dunleavy, and maybe even Dahntay Jones or J.J. Redick.
But, for now he’s a home town guy that I’d like to keep at a reasonable price and see if he can keep developing and bringing some of those intangables our team sorely lacks.
p.s.- Not sure how it just occured to me that we have 3 freaking Dukie V’s Blue Devils on our team. Puke!!!
peac.e
OK, he's not better then Elton Brand or Corey McGette
But he is better then Loul Deng and Shane Battier since he averages more points per game then Battier at least.
I know we have 3 (2 as of next season) dookie poopies on our team but serously I would not rule out the small possibility of Bird trading Brandon Rush and Donte Jones for OJ Mayo.
McRoberts value is way better then Danthay Jones, Chirstian Laettner, Mike Doneleavy, Johnny Dawkins, or Danny Ferry.
As for the Mayo trade, I’m glad the Pacers didn’t take it too, because I’m not sold on Mayo just yet.

Well your right about McRoberts
he’s not top 10 in the free agent market. But he still may be the Pacers top priority to re-sign after they release TJ Ford and Mike Doneleavy.
by PatsR18andDONEwithoutCHEATING on Mar 6, 2011 2:30 PM EST up reply actions
OK
First off last I checked Solomon Jones was still on the team
Secondly the Pacers have no business what so ever keeping Doneleavy although he may not be a bad player unlike Ford, he plays the exact same position as Paul George and Danny Granger on a Pacers roster that has as of lately kind of had too many people on it which is why Magnum Rolle was cut in the offseason. The Pacers need TJ Ford, Mike Dunleavy, Solomon Jones, and possibly even Jeff Foster’s roster spots for young talent, the draft and the free agent market. Foster would be worth to me at least 2.5 mill, because he play’s a position the Pacers have more need at then Mike Doneleavy or TJ Ford. But if the Pacers can get a big name at center or power forward or big man in the free agent market or by trade, letting Foster go may be their best option.

And here's another thing about McRoberts
He’s a Carmel Indiana native and a fan favorite, the Pacers will resigning him a high priority.

I would like to have Foster back, but, I thought all intentions..
were for him to retire this year.
HHHmmmm interesting you bring that up
You see I debated putting Foster on this list, but I decided not to because I had a feeling he was going to retire after this season.
