Maybe I'm just trying to be controversial. Maybe I'm just in a bad mood b/c I've watched two very uninspiring Pacer games over the last two days and tons of very inspiring college ball over the past few weeks. I want to watch my favorite team in the playoffs, but if the players don't want to be there, I don't want them there.
From a fan stand point, getting to watch a few extra Pacers games from the comfort of my own home rather than a bar stool at a sports bar with League Pass would be enjoyable (I'm definitely getting League Pass next season if the Pacers do anything positive in the off-season). But, I don't think a 36 win team deserves to be in the playoffs, especially if they can't play with a consistent effort. Maybe it's coaching, maybe is a lack of confidence, maybe these players just aren't very good (that's the one I'm leaning towards), but I'd rather not give management a pass thinking they improved and just need to maintain status quo.
I'm not in favor of any rash moves, most of the players we have are fairly young (not young enough to play this poorly), but I also don't want to just add a few more role players and think all is well.
It's time to clean house from the top and see what the new management can do with what little assets we have. A real NBA coach would go a long way.
