A few weeks ago, Dunleavy was quoted as saying that he was going to try and come back early from his injury. Bit since then, the front has been eerily quiet.
It reminds me of similar injuries in the Pacers' not so distant past: Tyler's ear infection, and Dunleavy's knee. In both instances, the injury turned out to be much more serious than it was initially.
Having had a broken thumb myself that was supposed to heal in six weeks, but instead took 12, I have hypothesized that Dunleavy will not be returning this season.
However, if Dunleavy does return, his shot and confidence will be seriously suspect. After a thumb injury, it takes significant time to rebuild strength and consistency in your shooting stroke.
Here's my question to you. Do we take a chance on Dunleavy's shot ruining our already slim hopes for playoff success by trying to work him back in the lineup? Or do we let Paul George and Rush handle the bulk of the minutes, using Leavy as a fringe player (ala Stephenson). Which is it, folks?
