The Pacers don't have a super star. What we have is a collection of hard working, underdog talents that need to work together to become a good team. Danny Granger is not the " unquestioned leader", he's not the "best player", he is an important piece of the puzzle on an 8th seeded team. DC, DG, TH, and RH all have a shared responsibility; none more important than the next. When we can put that into perspective then it becomes easier to appreciate each player for what they are instead of criticizing them for what they're not.
I went out of my way to issue some very disparaging comments about Danny Granger as of late. He was playing horrible and I was beyond frustrated with his selfishness. However, over the last few games he's been playing pretty well and he deserves some credit; albeit, it does have a lot to do with the efforts of his teammates DC, and TH. DC has been setting up good looks so that Danny doesn't have to force bad shot, and Tyler has been playing like he's the 1st option on offense which takes pressure off of Granger. Danny has responded by consistently knocking down shots. I like Danny and Roy when they are playing in the flow, allowing DC to create for them as opposed to just forcing bad shots every time they touch the ball. Both Danny and Roy have been doing a better job, as well as DC successfully distributing the ball. We need Danny to score points. If he and his comrads can continue this string of consistency, I like the Pacers chances of making a statement in the playoffs regardless of who the opponent is.
