Greg Oden to sign with Portland

It appears the free agent crop is narrowing. No big losses passing us by, but a couple of the names that have been kicked around here quite a bit. I don't think Oden was worth any contract besides a league minimum before he proved he could play without blowing something out. Never the less if we don't land Nene or Gasol it doesn't look like were going to get a big that can help us. I guess maybe Landry, but he's only a serviceable power forward at best. I don't know, but with these other players signing elsewhere and with that Rondo deal being rumored where the Pacers have to give up too much IMHO, I may be quite disappointed really soon.

Actually a ideal scenario for all the nba teams but Portland.

Let Oden rehab on Portland’s salary and see how well he does this season. Then be able to offer him whatever next off-season as an unrestricted free agent.

Why be Dissapointed

This team was young and without direction most of last season (maybe all). With new coaches, the addition of George Hill, and a new attitude, this season could be promising. Plus, we have the Money and time to be patient. So stop seeking and being desperate because when it all works out (Lance, among others will have a breakout year) teams will be coming to us for some of the Young, Talented, and Restless!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
