Lets Kick This Around
OK Cornrow'ers, its late Tuesday afternoon. There have been talks, sources, information leaked etc... on who the Pacers are going after as they're big free agent signing. Some say Marc Gasol, Nene, Carl Landry, Jamaal Crawford, David West and many trade rumours such as Paul Milsap and somewhere, someplace I heard Tracy McGrady?? Speculation I guess and hope at that one. Just curious who YOU think we will go after and/or sign/trade or flat out trade.
Will we go after Nene? Trade for Jordon Hill or Jason Thompson? Sign and trade for Rodney Stuckey? OR will we remain as we are and sign Kwame Brown and Reggie Evans and resign McRoberts and "Call it a day"
Ideas..Predictions. This shouldnt get caught up with the ole Rosterbation as it is merely a lets put the basketball minds together from Cornrow and kick around our thoughts.

Crawford and Nene
I would love to trade for Jordan Hill but I don’t see how. He will be a FA next year I believe though. I would expect Price to be cut. If we sign Battier or AK, I would say Amnesty Jones. I don’t see there being enough money to sign Nene, Crawford, and AK or Battier, and then still have enough for the extensions of Hill and Hibbert and signing Eric Gordon next summer. I’m also going on the assumption Famous makes the roster and Larry sticking with only wanting to have 14 players.
PG DC – Hil – Stephenson
SG PG – Crawford – Rush – Jones
SF Granger – Posey
PF Nene – Hans
C Hibbert – Foster – Famous

I would say
From hearing we sign Landry, then sign Shane Battier for back up vetern. We trade Rush for J.Hill. Resign Foster and sign Greg Smith.
PG Collison/Lance/Price
SG George/G.Hill/Jones
SF Granger/Battier/Posey
PF Landry (Uggh)/Tyler
C Roy/Foster/Hill/G.Smith

Of course
A few minor chages could be added, BUT I seriously think Bird goes after Landry for the double chaos from him and Tyler at the PF. Fingers are crossed for Nene and Battier though, but I think Larry will save a ton this year so we can add a star next year. AND HOPE Landry and Tyler turn into monsters of Naptown by FEB.

Uhm...
Rush for J.Hill? Im sorry to break it to you, but thats a more than little fan dreaming. Not even Kahn would accept that trade. So not likely at all. And i like the Battier signing, but not Landry. I think Tyler is better than Landry is, as Tyler can play a little better defense, rebound a little better, while is his offense is on the same level. just my opinoin though.
I like Tyler better than Landry too
I think if they signed Landry they’d bring him off the bench and almost split their time at PF 50/50. Both have great energy, both are solid offensively, neither plays great defense (but better than most people give them credit for) and neither are particularly good rebounders (but Tyler’s better than Landry). So if Bird likes Tyler, it would make sense that he’d like Landry and would bring him in to kind of replicate what Tyler does. Not saying I like it, just saying that’s what the thought process is, IMO

How much in Nene Worth Though?
I would not pay him 15 million a year. He isnt worth it. he is a 14 and 10 guy. Hes not a good shot blocker. We cannot pay him max dollars. Idk
Not even a "10" guy
Averaged over 10 rebounds per 36 once in his career

Probably the latter
A lot of the rumors are flying around because of the cap space the Pacers have. It’s natural they’d be mentioned in almost every rumor.
If I had to guess they’ll make a play at Nene but probably won’t be willing to spend the necessary money give just how good next year’s free agent class is. So they’ll resign McBob and Foster and maybe bring in someone like Brown and see how the key guys like DC, Roy, and George develop.
Plus, everyone is just assuming Hill will be a backup PG but we really have no idea what Bird and Vogel have planned for him.
I'd Take These Guys
I would go for Millisap and Jamal Crawford. We would be helping two areas that need help. I see where Larry Bird spoke with Nene today. He “could” be good for us, if he’s not asking the proverbial arm and leg.
nene and crawford
line-up would look like this:
darren / hill/ price
paul/ crawford /hill/lance/ rush / d jones
danny george/ rush / posey
nene /tyler/ mcbob /posey
roy/ nene /foster
2nd choice is gasol and crawford. line-up would look the same except substitute gasol for nene.
3rd choice is millsap / crawford. we can trade rush, d jones and posey’s expiring contract to utah if that’s enough. if not, include price if they’re interested. in this scenario, line-up will be like this:
dc / hill
george / crawford / hill / lance
granger / george / crawford
millsap / tyler / mcbob
roy / foster / mcbob
