A good start to the season, which is what we all wanted. I've seen alot of good things from the first 2 games, i understand its only 2 games and not against any elite teams, but still its nice to see. i've also seen things that concern me.
SOME OF THE GOOD. The defense looks great, they have bad moments, but for the most part its looks really solid. The effort is there. DG is showing us the defensive side of his game that alot of people foregot about, or wanted back. We showed against the raptors that we can close games. That's really important because its something we couldnt do last year, and its why we lost to the bulls in the playoffs. West has played good. He's not fully gotten back into basketball shape either so he's only going to get better. I remember saying this won't be paul george's break-out year. I mite be wrong. He's playing up to expectations so far
SOME OF THE BAD Our shooting has been terrible. It's not so much that we haven't been getting good looks, mostly they just arent going in. We mite be able to get away with this with bad teams, but we will not beat any of the better teams like the bulls and heat shooting this bad. I'm alittle concerned about Hill and where he fits in. I noticed in the first game they had Stephenson get the minutes at point behind DC. Tonights game hill got all the minutes at pg behind DC. I think hill is more comfortable at the 2. maybe this is Vogel trying to figure out where Hill plays the most productively. Either way he should be involved with alot of pick-n-rolls, He has good decision making skills. His shot hasnt been going in, but not alot of the other Pacers are shooting much better. I think the shooting will come around and they'll start making them.
ALSO I liked what i saw from admundson. rebounds, blocks, and effort. I'm also happy for Rush, who is playing good basketball for the warriors. Trade seemed to work out for both teams.
