Hey, We Won....But.

Well, it sure wasn't pretty, but a win, especially on the road, is great! 2-0 is a nice start. My concerns are several though. DG acted like his head wasn't even in the game till the 4th quarter. Giving the ball to the Raptors under their own basket "twice" could've really proven to be costly. And what gives with Hill? He still acts like he has no interest being on this team. When he's in the game, and especially when he's on the bench. He just looks like he doesn't care, but maybe it's just me. Paul George continues to impress, and Darren Collison actually played like a point guard in this game. I think having David West will really help him out. He has someone to look for now. Two very sloppy looking and sloppily played games by the Pacers, but two wins. Can't beat that with a Stick. Last year, this team would've folded down the stretch.

hold on there

Danny Granger didn’t hit his shots until the fourth quarter but he played good defense all game long. Yeah, he made too many turnovers, but overall Danny played a very team oriented game tonight all night long, and he step up as a leader in the end when the team needed him to take over. Look, Danny is not Lebron or Carmelo, or Durant, but he’s the next best thing, and I’m happy he’s on the Pacers.
Let’s give Hill a few more games before we blast him. remember how much Darren struggled as a point guard last season? Hill is going through the same thing, he’s getting acclimated to the new system.

Second that.

DG still took some contested shots that he shouldn’t have, but he made up for it on D. He had 3 steals at the half and was assisting on help defense more than I’ve ever seen.

Agreed

I was shocked to read his stat line with the 3 steals. And he keeps driving to the basket. He didn’t do that last year very often. He may take some dumb shots, but he shot 8-19 and that’s not that bad.

Mmm hmm...

… this game was freaking hideous on the whole. There were bright spots – the defense was excellent at times, our big guys were hustling, and DC had a great game as a point guard. There were some fun things to watch, but dude, how UGLY was this game? We shot better than on Monday, but you wouldn’t think that was the case.

In all honesty, I think it was the physicality of this game that made it look so rough. After the game, Danny said that it was one of the most physical games he’s ever played in. You know what’s exciting about that? We just watched a 5 on 5 boxing match and our guys stood their ground. Under O’Brien, we would have laid down and taken it.

i disagree with you

danny’s d was fine. yes, throwing the ball back to the other team was bad, but at least he made a good defensive play. and lay off of george hill. it’s been two games. you don’t think he wants to play well for his hometown team?

Harper's on Miller, McKey, gets in to Miller for the win and...

Hustle and team play

Collison passed the ball and had 12 assists. Therefore we won.

Well, that and really good hustle from West and Amundson. Lou can’t shoot, but he, Hans, and Hill are a lot of fun coming off the bench. I liked when the announcer said Bargnani was scared of Hans. Love it! We need to shoot better, but that will happen.

I’m lovin this!

I was very impressed with the ball movement.

Needs some refinement. But we made the extra pass….sometimes we made one too many extra passes it seemed, but that’s much better than at times last year when there was more Iso (even under Vogel at times) and of course under JOB when it was pretty much just, “When you have a sliver of daylight shoot the 3.”

The good thing about this year's pacers....

it will not be a repeat of the past 2 seasons. We can definitely say that we did not peak in november.
