Do Oddsmakers Think The Indiana Pacers Will Win More Games Than You Expect?

Greetings from the road on a layover in Minneapolis on my way to Seattle for Christmas. During my first flight, Bovada.lv released their NBA over/under win lines as well as some other interesting prop bets.

Personally, if the Pacers win 35 games for a 35-31 record in this short season, I'd be thrilled and expect that to secure a solid spot in the playoffs. Maybe I'm being too conservative, though. According to Bovada, the oddsmakers set the over/under for wins at 36.5 for the Pacers.

After the jump, check out the odds along with the line for the scoring averages for Danny Granger and David West among other numbers like how many technical fouls Dwight Howard will have this season.

I think the odds are just about right

the key thing is health. Last year, practically nobody was injured through the season except Dunleavy for a stretch. On the individual stats, I would like to see Hibbert’s rebounding numbers to go up a bit maybe somewhere in the 9 range. Although he struggle in presason and didn’t get close to 30 min, his rebounding numbers were still pretty good. In any case, can’t wait for the season to start.

I like the under on Boston and Portland and the over on Chicago.

Hibbert had better average more than 7.5 boards per game.

And if anyone is wondering

These odds would have Indiana tied with the 76ers for 6th in the East.

I had the Pacers at 35-31 as well.

I don’t think West will get that 18.5 this year. Around 16 a game. Tyler will up his scoring to maybe 13-14 a game I think to compensate.

Pacers motto - "Never Easy"
Pacers = Thugs
So Thugs never have it easy = Thug Life
I love the Pacers. I love the Thug Life
