Granger statistically has been great. He has stayed out of trouble, said the right things to the media and "lead" the team to the Playoffs last season. The guy is a good basketball player and also at the tip top of his career. The Pacers wouldn't get anymore out of Granger than they could right now. Let's face it, its a well covered topic that Danny does not have the championship leadership skills in order to be "the guy". The team can no longer take his lackadaisical play for quarters and games in a row.
One obvious match for the Pacers would be the Hornets. Their newly acquired SG Indiana grown Eric Gordon would fit in well with this young group of Pacers. Paul George can easily start and play well at the 3 with very little drop off. Another option to be looked at is the situation at Portland. Now that Crawford chose to go and start for the Trailblazers it sends N. Batum and W. Mathews into limbo on the bench. Both Batum and Mathews are very talented young players with a lot of upside and the ability to contribute now.
The impressive playoff appearance last year and the signing of D. West has Pacers' fans excited. Let's not go overboard though, D. West has a lot to prove this year coming off of knee surgery and not playing with CP3. West is not alone, the team itself has high expectations this year. This was the off season Indy has been looking forward to for years and Bird and Moray promised moves. Don't let us down, we Pacers' fans can get over Granger (he's no Reggie) in fact that's what we're looking for. Use Danny as the valuable trade bait he is and follow through Larry.
