With the new CBA one of the first things that popped in my mind was using the amnesty on James Posey.

Then as more info became available, I realized that keeping him and saving the amnesty makes much more sense.

When the trade deadline comes around, that $7.5 million expiring contract becomes very appealing to teams wanting to shed salary for 2012. This could land us another piece to the puzzle for our depth.

We then still have the amnesty down the road to use on one of the inevitable bad contracts that come down the road.
