I know, it's quite the long shot. But Chris Sheridan said in an article today:
"No team will ever be able to match the pile of assets the Nets were willing to mortgage their future on, but there might be somebody out there with enough expiring contracts, extra draft picks and young, talented players to trump any low-ball offer Walsh might make."
Sounds a lot like Indiana. Obviously, we would all love to see Melo in a different shade of blue & gold, but what are the chances he would be willing to sign an extension? Would it be worth it to give up a good amount of assets just to rent him for a playoff run?
Clearly, he's an upgrade over Granger, whom we would almost definitely have to give up, but would the fans really want to make a playoff run and guarantee JOB an extension? *facepalm*
Just speculation, but what do you think of the chances the Pacers make a run for Carmelo?
