IC Cold Links: Spain Eliminates Greece From World Championships, Sacramento Gives Luther Head A Chance
The FIBA World Championships continue over the weekend and yesterday's biggest game saw Spain hang on to knock out Greece in their first game of the medal round. The Spaniards remain the biggest threat to win the gold along with Team USA.
Speaking of the U.S. squad, today's links reveal they are trying to take advantage of their days off to work details before they resume their run for the gold on Monday against Angola.
Also, former Pacer and all-around good guy, Luther Head will get a shot at a roster spot with the Sacramento Kings. After New Orleans did him wrong by signing him earlier this summer in the midst of a front office transition, the Kings did him right by bringing him in much like the Pacers did last year. Nothing is guaranteed unless he remains on the roster for a couple of months. But it's a fair shot for Luther and I hope it all works out for the best.

Smits should be higher on the list of top Pacers of all-time. Unbelievable! He should never be below number 2 in any list. And JO should never be in the top 5.
I wouldn’t put JO in the top 5 either just for the simple fact he was only really healthy 4 years here and then his body completely broke down on him.
Man, I still remember when we got him and his first year and I was like “omg did we really get him for dale davis?” He freaking oozed talent. Could rebound, block shots, hit the 15 foot jumper, hook shots with both hands.
Then he had 3 years of 20/10/2 while playing nearly every game, even though in 2003-2004 (when he was actually third in mvp voting I think?) He started shooting that stupid fall away jumper instead of his hook shots and his field goal percentage was garbage for a PF. But,man, he was GOOD then.
Then his body broke down and the rest is history.
New Orleans is a bunch of scumbags
For pulling what they did with Head.
