Pretty simple trade

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=2adjkuo

This is simple and fills a need for both teams.

Pacers get Jeffries

Rockets get Ford

We need a Power forward and they need a Point guard.  Simple.

My other simple trade is with Atlanta

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=25brqrk

Pacers get J. Crawford

Hawks get M. Dunleavy

We get our scoring option at the Two and they get their scoring option at the Three.  These are both really possible and both really help both teams.  Get it done.

Jeffries doesn’t rebound nor defend at the 4, so I would rather have Ford in case Price’s knee doesn’t heal.

Atlanta doesn’t do that trade

I think atlanta would do the trade if thier are not any real big takers out there. They need a one year rental and a small forward. It makes sense. Jeffries play pretty good defense, i am not sure why you say he doesnt. I think having ford on the team is only needed if stephanson gets kicked off the team.

If they are going to rent a player for a year, they would just rent their own. Crawford won’t pout his way through the season. It is his contract year he needs to perform to get the contract he wants next year. If he pouts and plays like shit he won’t get paid.

Next to Hibbert we need an athletic 4 who will rebound and block shots. Jeffries can’t/doesn’t do that. Not to mention he is always hurt and isn’t very good on the offensive side either.

We don’t know if Stephenson can play the 1. He hasn’t in years. Trusting a second round pick rookie who is a natural shooting guard to handle back up duties is quite ballsy IMO

You could say the same thing about Dunleavy that you did about Crawford.

I’m more interested in who becomes the starter in place of Rush now. I would assume Dunleavy but I don’t think it’s impossible that George could play himself into the role. It would seem possible that DG could be the 4 with both dunleavy and George playing. I like Dahntay Jones but I have to think that JOB’s hatred of his lack of 3 pt shooting prevents him from getting meaningful time, although he was one of the better SG we had last year.

We will def see some Granger at the 4 some, but I think he mentioned in an interview that he doesn’t belong down there all the time

“We’re going to have to go after another big, I’m sure,” said the 6-foot-8 Granger. “Losing Troy, he was great. I can play the (power forward) but I’m not a true (power forward). So we’re definitely going to have to add another big, and I think that will be our main focus.”

This Trade will never Happen!

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=2ejcsnk

This is with Carmelo Anthony.

Who would you rather have? Melo or Granger? I really like granger, if he develops that killer instinct you have to think that he could be better than melo? I might be crazy.

Were you waiting for someone to say no?

I like Granger more, but being a homer might be playing into this. DG is cheaper and offers a similar offensive production.

No

I was just kind of bored with the nuthing but negative news going on with the pacers so I am trying to figure out what the nexts move are for the pacers this offseason.

I know we need a PF

I am wanting to delete that statement I am not sure why i put that on there.

You must be from Bloomington. JJ sucks

The Houston deal

Is just shuffling the deck. Expirer for expirer, neither helps the other team really. They wanna give us a 2nd rounder with JJ? Deal. ATL’s not moving Crawford for Dunleavy.

Yeah, don't understand this one

Still hope we can focus on bringing in a very good rebounder at the 4, like Amundson, to a modest deal.

I could NEVER see Atlanta doing this trade, either. Does nothing for them. Gets rid of a great bench scorer for a guy who could potentially bring nothing at all to the table, and both are signed for around the same amount for the same length. Um…why would they bite on this? It’d have to be after Dunleavy had a great opening couple months of the season, and still, even then, I’m not doing that if I’m Atlanta. Crawford would have to have 4 more years on him for this trade to be fair.

"You're hitting the wrong person. Don't you know you're hitting Ron Artest?"

Come visit The Fantasy Ninjas. We'd love to hear from you.

Crawford for TJ maybe. They could use some PG help. Also…. if I were to take over the Hawks right now I would try and trade Joe Johnson. He’s going to be making 20+mil. when he’s 35! I would try to ship him off to another team before his contract becomes a liability and theyre financially handcuffed for years.

by B-Huse on Aug 30, 2010 10:30 AM EDT reply actions

I know I’m saying if today they gave me the GM job I would trade him. This is Tracy Mcgrady sort of stuff all over again. He’s honestly not talented enough for 20 million now at 29, he’s certainly not gonna be worth it at 35. His play will drop and they will be handcuffed. Then talents like Al Horford will go to waste cause they can’t get any help. They didn’t think this through, classic Hawks.

by B-Huse on Aug 30, 2010 12:27 PM EDT up reply actions

both of these guys would be beaten in camp by somebody we already have

These trades don’t make us better, and they don’t make room on the 15 man roster for Rolle. Unless the pacers can do a 2 for one swap using expirings I don’t see a trade out there that makes us better without fleecing someone.

A trade that could make sense? TJ and Dunleavy to Denver for K Mart. We swap 2 expirings for one big one, that can play the 4, and make room for Rolle. Denver would do it because they are going straight to rebuilding mode after they lose Anthony.

I think that a play could be made for Camby as well, possibly Rush and TJ.

In both cases we are just renting a PF, but we aren’t willing to pay the price for a young PF with potential.
