IC Cold Links: Pacers Preseason Set, Team USA Ready To Play This Weekend
I've been remiss in mentioning the preseason schedule for the Indiana Pacers which has been out for awhile. Fortunately,Indy Sports Nation reminded me yesterday.
The preseason tips off at Memphis on Octobert 6th which is suddenly less than two months away. All three of the home games appear slated for Conseco Fieldhouse this year and include the Orlando Magic and New Orleans Hornets. So we get an extra, albeit limited visit from Chris Paul this year which ought to light a fire under Darren Collison to go against his old mates.
There's no word on the television schedule for the preseason or regular season yet.
Here is the full preseason schedule:
- Wednesday Oct. 6 at Memphis 8:00 p.m.
- Friday Oct. 8 vs. Orlando 7:00 p.m.
- Saturday Oct. 9 at Houston 7:00 p.m.
- Wednesday Oct. 13 vs. Minnesota 7:00 p.m.
- Friday Oct. 15 vs. New Orleans 7:00 p.m.
- Tuesday Oct. 19 at Minnesota 8:00 p.m.
- Friday Oct. 22 at Chicago 8:00 p.m.
After the jump, a few more links of interest including stories on Team USA as they prepare for a couple of games in Madrid, Spain, a chill shot of Danny Granger, plus videos of A.J. Price rehabbing and the Darren Collison and James Posey making themselves at home in the Fieldhouse.
One more thing, Mark Boyle's Wish Walk is in day four. After three days, Boyle has hoofed it 46.7 miles while consuming all of the best that Indiana small towns have to offer. Never thought I'd be jealous of a guy on a 500 mile walk. Check out his progress and donate to the cause.
- Pacers.com has a couple of entertaining videos up with the official first day for Darren Collison and James Posey along with A.J. Price getting after it in rehab.

Trey Kerby wonders what Danny's thinking during a moment of relaxation with Team USA. - Coach K: Young, small US team 'not a powerhouse'
Mike Krzyzewski and Team USA will have to win in a different fashion next week compared to the 2008 Olympics. Instead of overpowering opponents they will have to execute and outplay as a team. - Indiana’s next move: Pacers’ Bloggers Predict the Future
Casey Mack at Dime.com checked in on the Pacers' needs heading into the season. - Serbia, Greece Brawl in Pre-Worlds 'Friendly' in Athens -- NBA FanHouse
Oklahoma City Thunder center, Nenad Krstic lost it during a brawl while playing for the Serbian national team. The video is a must see. I wonder if Krstic will be seen at the World Championships or if FIBA will sit him down. - Bucks sign PG Boykins
Free agent point guard Earl Boykins has signed a one-year, $1.3 million contract with the Milwaukee Bucks. The Bucks are trying to shore up their point guard depth after losing Luke Ridnour earlier in the summer.

Kinda bummed there's no overseas trip this year
Seeing video of Roy Hibbert on the Great Wall of China was awesome last year. Sure the players don’t mind having to take that flight though.
And I’ll still smack Spike Lee if I ever meet him.
٩(͡๏̯͡๏)۶ The sky is falling!
Quote from Mark Boyle about his walk:
“I’m 20 years older than Jermaine O’Neal, and it turns out that I’m still tougher than he is.”
BUUUUUURRRNNN
After watching Greece brawl with Serbia...
…it’s safe to say there are Spartans rolling in their graves.
Confucious say "He who dives for loose balls need proper fitting athletic cup!"
Wow...
Kristic is a douche, hitting a guy that isn’t looking at him and then backing off and hiding behind some other dudes tying to stop the fight and then throwing a chair and running off the court. That’s just lame… I wonder if the guy threw a beer at him.
