IC Cold Links: Hibbert A Fieldhouse Fixture, Team USA Cuts Expected Today
Roy Hibbert is like a Walmart greeter at Conseco Fieldhouse.
The Pacers' center has reportedly been working his tail off this summer and if half the battle is just showing up then we know that's true. Check out the Pacers.com video page where Hibbert pops up in the lobby on Paul George's first day on the job to chat with the rookie. Another clip shows a sweat-soaked Hibbert greeting UFC local legend Chris Lytle, along with Matt Serra and fomer Boilermaker Matt Mitrione while the three promoted UFC 119.
It wouldn't have surprised me if Hibbert showed up sashaying down the catwalk on the Pacemates Showcase video (I watched it a few times just to make sure he didn't show up...research).
So after a brief scare while playing for the Jamaican national team, Hibbert remains a fixture at the Fieldhouse. Bruno's latest Caught in the Web catches up with with Hibbert, where else, at the Fieldhouse where he discusses his effort to make the Olympics with Jamaica and getting in his work this offseason. There's even a little video of Roy playing with the Jamaican team prior to the knee tweak that brought him home.
After the jump, a few more links including stories on projected Team USA cuts now that Rabjohns and Wellsie have scooped the story on Eric Gordon and Danny Granger, remaining point guard hopes for the Pacers, Zach Randolph getting in some work at IUPUI and some high expectations for Jermaine O'Neal's role in Boston.

Wouldn't it be nice to read a story about rush living at the field house
You would think someone that almost got traded at the deadline and infuriates the fan base so much would want to make sure everyone knew he was working to get better.

Too bad all this effort will be wasted when JOB decides to tell everyone to jack three’s and ignore hibbert.
Come on...
Hibberts gonna be jacking them up too.

Boomers new half time show
it was him jumpin on that lil trampoline and dunking but now I heard they are gonna have him jumpin on the tramp from behind the 3 point line and jacking up 3’s.
Nah
We should get a new mascot that is a Skunk and let him throw bricks at the basket from behind the three point line during breaks in play and halftime. LET’S STINK IT UP!!!!

I hope Roy’s with us for a long time. He’s become my favorite current NBA player. Just a great guy and a great player. And he’s only going to get better.
Yeah
He’s a funny guy, centers seem to have the best personalities.

I'm getting close
Danny took over to fill that void Reggie left during 06-07, and I had assumed it would stay that way, but dangit, it’s getting really hard to not call Roy my favorite NBA player.
I only hope he keeps improving at the rate he’s been. I would love to have an underrated and reliable big man.

You guys remember the Magic game last season
where he lit up Howard for 20ish and 10? Even more impressive than that performance was the NBATV interview after the game. He said how he was looking forward to getting better, stronger, faster in the offseason and constantly improving his game. He is backing those words up nicely this offseason. Love it!
I’m also looking forward to seeing Hibby vs Lopez for the next 10 years or so. Those two seem to bring out the best in each other…
That's true, but...
Howard definitely adjusted that second game and it wasn’t quite so nice. Hibbert is one of many things I look forward to this year.

Check out Paul George's twitter.
Him and Lance Stephenson seem to be getting along well. A good sign for what may be to come. They got some sweet tatts. Shows pics on his twitter.
