Mike Wells reports tonight that Danny Granger will join Eric Gordon in New York with Team USA for the next training camp session starting August 9th.

This was certainly some great news to read after returning from a long night coaching baseball. As far as I'm concerned, the more reps Granger gets with Team USA the better. The workouts in New York also include an exhibition game with France on August 15th. The playing rotations in that game should give a good indication of which 12 players will go on to play in the World Championships.

Having survived this initial cut, Granger may actually be in better shape to remain on the 12-man roster depending on which players are cut from the 15-man team. If Gerald Wallace and/or Jeff Green are left off at this point, that may bode well for Granger.

Think we could make that work on defense.

Granger is the worse rebounder and defender ever (I don’t actually believe this, reverse psychology people). I hope this works.

Very glad to hear it

Rough showing in the showcase must not have meant much from what he showed in practice. Hope he gets to the 12-man roster.
