I believe now is the time for the Pacers to get active in building the team. I appreciate the plan of waiting until next summer when the Pacers will have alot of cap room, however, it appears that the NBA is only going to comprise of 8-10 really good teams (those whom are active in keeping their team up graded. If it is inevitable that the Pacers team will go through an almost total makeover, my vote would be to start now instead of taking the risk that New Jersey had done this summer. I would like to recommend the following 2 trades:
1st Trade: Dunleavy, Ford, Foster, & S. Jones (all expiring contracts) to New Orleans for Chris Paul and Okafor.
2nd Trade: Murphy, D. Jones, Rush, and A.J. Price to Denver for Carmelo Anthony and Ty Lawson.
New Projected lineup for Pacers: PG- Chris Paul, SG- Granger, SF-Carmelo Anthony, PF- Okafor, C- Hibbert, with a bench consiting of PG- Ty Lawson, SG- Stevenson, SF- Paul George, PF/C- Hansbrough & McRoberts and any potential big men on fre agent list.
Please share your thoughts.
