Dear SB Nation head honchos and other important people,

I go by Colts Homer at SBNation. I first joined Stampede Blue back in the first version when you needed a different username for each SBNation site, and at one point I was a front page writer for Stampede Blue. I am a veteran over there, but I am very troubled with the direction Stampede Blue is headed in.

Brad "BigBlueShoe" Wells has gotten out of control with his powers. Not only is he going on the same topic over and over, beating the dead horse so to speak, but he is banning members for basically disagreeing with him. I understand that he has the right to write whatever he wants, but it is ridiculous that he is able to close commenting on posts that people worked hard on and warn and ban those people for just a simple disagreement.

Wells is acting like a child, and he has ruined the community. There is a large group of people at Stampede Blue who have become friends outside of Stampede Blue and the internet, but we still all love to talk at SBNation sites because of the brilliant commenting system which makes it so easy to talk. However, we have grown tired of Wells’ intolerance to different ideas and are now refugees at Indy Cornrows to avoid the lunacy going at Stampede Blue.

I know that you will be getting emails from other people who I am close to at Stampede Blue about this. We have all agreed that Wells is out of control. People who have been fantastic members are getting warnings for just disagreeing. No personal attacks, no language, just disagreement. If this is supposed to be the open forum like it was when I joined, Wells is doing a good job of ruining it.

He is writing with a double standard. Ever since I’ve joined, Wells’ shtick has been writing articles calling other writers "schmucks", "jerks", and "douches". However, just a normal disagreement is worthy for a banning from him. People have contemplated having their accounts deleted because they do not want to put up with it. I can’t say I disagree with what they are doing. Wells is out of control with power. After a FanPost is posted, this little line comes up at the bottom right before the comments.

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Stampede Blue’s writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Stampede Blue’s writers or editors.

The thing is, this is not true at Stampede Blue anymore. Our opinions are not as important as the head writer because if we disagree we get silenced. Only his opinion matters now. It is disappointing that Stampede Blue has turned into a police state.

The thing that put me over the edge was his snarky reply to an email from the community manager at Stampede Blue. It was very well-written expressing concern with him and disagreeing with him, but Wells dismissed it as a personal attack like he does with everything. I was disheartened to see that not even other powerful people at Stampede Blue could make him think. I feel like Wells has an ego problem which has ruined the entire website for everyone.

I am not sure what will come of this. I know how many page hits he gets, but it is because he is being a dictator who writes inflammatory articles praising his own opinion and pretending that he has sources. He has been a cancer to the site. He has done a lot for me, but I am very upset with him right now. He is being a bad representative for the Colts fanbase. He is much more intolerant than any of the other writers there, and it is causing problems. I am not a fan of what he writes, but that is not the problem. I agree to disagree with him on that. However, he does not. If I were to write a comment disagreeing with him it would probably get deleted and I would get warned and banned. That is not a way a blog should work. If I have done nothing wrong, then I should not have to worry about being banned. That is not the case at Stampede Blue. I wish that there was a way to fix it. I know that this will probably not do much, but please take into consideration what this is doing for SBNation. People are going to look down on the whole site because of what he is doing. He is out of control and has ruined Stampede Blue for everyone.
