So I was checking this out:
http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?page=transactions-10-11
and it made me incredibly mad that we did not do more in the offseason, be it through adding players in the Draft or making any other moves. There were some things to be had, and we blew it.
When you look at players lost section, you will notice that our slot is empty. Is there any other reason to continue to hang onto such futility?! We can rehash all the individual problems but nothing has driven me crazier than seeing the crap that is still on this roster, while other teams got stronger. We would be the worst team in the West!
Time to cut McBob, Solo, and I'd be okay with cutting an injured Price. Then with those three spots create a revolving door of DLeaguers until we find one that sticks and become an asset. There are players more appealing in the DLeague anyway. We could probably find someone serviceable to the Point (I'm looking at Marcus Williams, Will Conroy, Will Blalock, Gabe Pruitt etc).
Next, move Dahntay and Rush. I'm tired of hearing good perimeter defenders. I'll show you 30 in the DLeague/Overseas, who would love to be in the NBA, that guard better for a whole lot cheaper.
Lastly, if we can't get value for Murph/Ford/Dunleavy, we need to buy them out and save money. Who cares if we lose, I want pick number 1 or 2 for the next couple of years. Give me another Franchise guy with Granger and we could be competitive in the next five years.
This offseason, more than anything, makes me believe that the Indy Pacers will be somewhere else in the near future. Why else would a team covet this future flexibility in their cap, when they know it just means more crap until players are brought in, over a long period of time, to make the team competitive. The may things are being handled is starting to look more and more with how the Sonics became the Thunder.
