Pacers should make a push for Iggy.

Now that we know where the Pacers fall in the draft order, we know that New Jersey won't be getting John Wall, therefore they probably wont want to get rid of Devin Harris, at least for now.  There goes the trade that I've been pushing for a while now.  So, I want to focus some more attention on the idea of trading for Andre Igudala.  The rumors that were floating around about the Sixers maybe shopping Iggy at least make it promising enough for me to talk about.

The deal I'm suggesting would move Troy Murphy to the Sixers in exchange for Iggy.  I know I've been trying to ask for Murphy to be traded for a mid 20s pick this year, but I just don't know that the Pacers will (or even could) do that.  This trade does make sense for both sides though.

The Sixers would trade Iggy for the shear cap room.  His contract is long and keeps a lot of money tied up (3yrs + play option for 4th at roughly 12-16 million dollars per year).  Murphy is of course in the last year of his contract which is extremely attractive, especially if Mr. Larry Brown comes back and wants to do his 2yr rebuild plan with the Sixers.  The contracts do match up enough to do the deal straight up if the Sixers were willing to accept it.  I wouldn't even mind throwing in our 2nd round pick from Dallas, assuming they give it to us this year instead of next.

For the Pacers, this fills a GAPING need.  It may not seem like it at first, but it really does.  Iggy can play the 2 or the 3, and even bring the ball up the court if need be (not suggesting, just stating).  This would allow not only the flexibility of playing Granger more at the 4 spot to spread the floor and maybe get him some more double-doubles, but also give us a nice defensive force with a lot of athleticism to go along.  I think the combonation of Granger and Iggy on offense would be very formidable, and Iggy's presence on defense would be greatly appreciated buy us as fans.

What do you guys think?  Is Iggy's contract worth taking on?  Would he mesh well with our team and with our playing style?
