Players want to win, Management needs to step in.
Well in recent news the Pacers have begun to shoot themselves in the foot again by winning a couple of their last few. Bird needs to step in and say enough with all this winning. People are saying its good for the team to play together so they'll get better for next year, this is ridiculous. They have the off season for a reason and roster changes are a guaranteed thing this summer. All the team is doing by winning is keeping the franchise in a bad spot. Every other team in the league knows how this works. Why not the Pacers? Yeah sure lets try really hard now in garbage games to win but not during the games that count. Story of the Indiana Pacers. Players want to win, upper management needs to step in.
Let the young/core guys play (Granger, Rush, Hibbert, Price, D Jones, McRoberts, Solo,) and limit the time of the veterans who won't be here in the future. I've seen a little bit of this recently but usually not until the 4th quarter the core players need to be logging major minutes, a minimum of at least 25. I think everyone will agree with me that this is a wise plan, but why don't we see it happening?
As a former player myself, actually I'm still in high school, there is no way I would ever try to loose on purpose but if I weren't on the court I wouldn't have the choice. JOB focus doesn't need to be on winning. It needs to be on losing but more importantly developing Rush, Hibbert, Price, Solo, and Josh.
By the numbers, now is the most important time to loose. We are currently in a three-way tie for the 5th pick with Sacramento and Detroit. We hold the tie breaker, this is huge. If the season were to end today the worst possible pick we could get would be the 8th pick. This is also very important because if we win another game and Sacramento and Detroit do not that would knock us down to the 7th spot in a tie with Philadelphia. Our worst pick then would be either the 10th or 11th selection. The major talent drops off severely after the top 5. We have the chance now to turn the franchise around, lets not blow it if that 's possible.
To sum it all up, unlike the recent documentary, right now is Loosing Time not Winning Time.

Agreed
Excellent post. The same thing I think we are all on board with. The only people who don’t seem to like this plan are the people in charge of the Pacers.
Let’s just say if Roy and Danny can’t play because some random guy in a ski mask hit them in the shin with a 2×4..... it wasn’t me lol
Wrong Two
It’s not Danny and Roy that need hit. It’s JOB
…and Murphy would be nice.

Congrats....
Nice to see us play hard when the season is already over. When they need to win, they lose, when it’s better to lose, they win. This team can’t get anything right…sigh
Opportunity is missed by most people because it comes dressed in overalls and looks like work.

This all really sucks
Once again we play the waiting game. Ugh. At least there is a little hope considering we play Detroit, New York, and Washington twice in coming games. Well its either hope or lottery death games. Pray for Our Pacers! We’re going to need some divine intervention the rest of this season and in the summer!

Why isn't management doing anything?
We have no shot at making the playoff and no one even pays attention to the Pacers besides us. So why are we winning and why isn’t someone doing something about it?

ugh...
Of course, when games mattered this team crumbled like a sack of potato chips. The joke is totally on them- they think beating these teams now is an accomplishment? Same thing as last year- just had to win meaningless games down the stretch and we get a dizzy, off-balanced rugby player instead of brandon jennings-
