2010 Nba Draft, The Indiana Pacers Select

John Wall? Evan Turner?

Yes, Unfortunately, the pacers have opportunity to get one of the best players in the 2010 nba draft this year because we have a really bad nba regular season!

So i am not really enjoy the opportunity and high draft pick anyway. However, What we have to do now is that losing every games we can and see if it helps us in the future.

Back to the topic, 2010 nba draft, The indiana pacers select?

I think the answer is very simple (not that much choices here).

No 1 pick

If Pacers have the no 1 pick, we will have John Wall here.( i don't read any article about take wall or turner, because it's really waste the time). I am not going to figure out that wall or turner better, because they are 2 best players here, but everyone will take wall before turner. why? i just can tell u that Wall can be top 5 PG in the nba, turner 0% better than kobe and Lebron James.

No 2 pick

With the no 2 pick , Pacers will select Evan Turner. You may said that how about DeMarcus Cousins?Derrick Favors?Hey, you will see their name after Evan Turner, but no 2 pick?

I know everything can be happened, but just forget it, Evan Turner is the no 2 pick this year.

No 3 ,4, 5

1X% 2X OR 3X% we get first or second pick in 2010 nbadraft?Base on the record now( We will never win the Nets right? We are close...but Net is the "winner")

So lets face it, We may finally settle in no 3, 4 or 5.So Who will Pacers select? 5 names here

DeMarcus Cousins, Derrick Favors and Donatas MotieJunas,Greg Monroe and Wesley Johnson

(Hassan Whiteside and Al-faroug Aminu can be black horses who may take by teams in the top 5, but they are not work for the Pacers,  We have Danny, so Pacers will not select Al-faroug Aminu anyway,Hassan Whiteside?maybe, but not realistic, Because Roy Hibbert is there, and please check out the rookie ranking, Scout always  think that DeMarcus Cousins and Derrick Favors is better than Hassan Whiteside, so what make u think Pacers will take Hassan Whiteside before DeMarcus Cousins or Derrick Favors by using no 3, 4, or 5 pick?)

Because of we may finally settle in no 3,4 or 5 pick this year

Who is better for the Pacers? DeMarcus Cousins, Derrick Favors and Donatas MotieJunas,Greg Monroe and Wesley Johnson

My ranking is

1. Derrick Favors

2. DeMarcus Cousins

3. Donatas MotieJunas

4. Greg Monroe

5. Wesley Johnson

So thats means when Pacers have no 3 pick, they better select Derrick Favors, if Derrick Favors gone? they have to select DeMarcus Cousins.

Yes, Derrick Favors is better choice than DeMarcus Cousins, why? not about the potential, but it's all about the risk.DeMarcus Cousins bad personality will make things change even he maybe is a  better basketball player than Derrick Favors in the future(no one knows..). i will take Derrick Favors because he is the low risk choice for the Pacers.

Why i put Donatas MotieJunas and Greg Monroe 's name here? it's because Pacers may take one of them over Derrick Favors or DeMarcus Cousins .Don't be surprise that larry bird make this decison for us. They are both PF that can make long shot(3 points)....., i don't know about Donatas MotieJunas, people said that he is Andrea Bargnani type of players. but Greg Monroe ? Larry will like this kid in the heartbeat. Maybe he think Greg Monroe is better than Derrick Favors and DeMarcus Cousins? It's possible. He will not like bad personality kid like DeMarcus. but Derrick Favors? Larry will choose Derrick Favors or Greg Monroe? i hope that we can take Derrick Favors here, but if Derrick Favors gone, larry may take DeMarcus Cousins and trade him to other teams for Greg Monroe or unknown player Donatas MotieJunas.

So 65% chance that Pacers take Derrick Favors with no3,4 or 5 pick this year

If Derrick Favors gone, Pacers will move to Donatas MotieJunas, Greg Monroe or DeMarcus Cousins.

i think 45% chance Donatas MotieJunas , Greg Monroe 35%DeMarcus Cousins

Finally, when they are all gone , Pacers will think about Wesley Johnson, Cole Aldrich, Hassan Whiteside,Al-faroug Aminu,Ed Davis,Patrick Patterson or Xavier Henry.

But the % is very low, because they may finally have no 3,4 or 5 pick this year

In my conclusion, We have high % to get Derrick Favors in the 2010 nbadraft, Donatas MotieJunas and Greg Monroe after, then DeMarcus Cousins.

( I think Hassan Whiteside, James Anderson is the sleepers this year, They will have bright future in the nba. and Pacers may take Sherron Collins in the second round if they didn't get Wall and Sherron is still there when Pacers available.)

DeMarcus Cousins

I would avoid Cousins like the plague. While he has all the physcial gifts you’d look for in a star player, but his temperment is full of holes. Reports from his coaches are that you never know his mental state and which player is gonna show up. I’d drop him to the bottom of the list for that reason alone. Honestly, I’m hoping for pick 1 or 2 to make the decision easy.

I've heard all the same

but from what I’ve seen the guy seems to be mature and a hardworker on the court. I’ve read no reports from this season on him being lazy or getting into any trouble. This guy has all the physical tools to be an absolute stud in the NBA and I think he would be too hard to pass up at the number 3 spot or even give consideration to at the 2 spot. Evan Turner is a safer pick but I think Cousins could develop into a top forward in the NBA based on his skill set and size.

The thing is that Cousins isn't very athletic, at least not for a Top 5 pick.

Favors clearly is leaps and bounds beyond Cousins from an athletic standpoint. It’s like the difference between Amare Stoudamire and Zach Randolph. Their both decent comps too. That’s not to say he won’t be good, but considering how much most of the NBA centers around freaky athleticism, he’s no sure bet.

And as for Cousins not being lazy, that’s not the issue. The issue is he’s a hothead. If you’ve watched enough Kentucky games you would have seen times where Cousins has essentially (if not literally) has told Calapari to f—k off. He says that as the coach is trying to you know…coach him. If anything his problem is he goes too hard, like someone in the Ron Artest mold of crazy, and people don’t know if he’ll be able to be reigned in and not blow a fuse and do something to hurt his team. I heard Chad Ford talking on a podcast yesterday about how he expects Cousins to challenge (and probably beat) Rasheed Wallace’s record for technicals.

And with all that said there's no way I'd pass on him at 4 (well, I'd try trading the pick first, but that's another story).

Though I have my guys clearly tiered. John Wall clearly over Turner who’s vastly over Favors who is clearly over Cousins.

No way we get john wall, no matter what pick we get. If we get the 1st pick, larry will pick evan turner. If we get the 5th pick like we’re suppose to, we’ll probably end up with cold adrich. Remember, larry bird hates freshman.

Oh well, i actually think evan turner is a decent player and the 2nd best in the draft. Not on john walls level but that’s larry bird for ya. :)

Okay everybody get to know Paul George out of Fresno State. If we cant get a pick in the late teens he could be one hell of an investment. Check out the positives, negatives, and highlight reel of Paul George and think if we played a fast offense that had Derrick Favors at the 5, then Danny, then Paul.

What about Quincy Pondexter if he's still available in the second round?

He may have just helped push his stock up a bit following this one. But this guy’s hustle has been nothing short of electrifying down the stretch against Marquette. I’d love to have that kind of depth at wing. :nods:

Honestly I don’t know much about Quincy but I did see the game against Marquette and he did look very good. I just kinda think we’ve got that kind of effort with Dahntay Jones. But, he could be more then that. If he falls he’d be a nice pickup.

Larry Bird is still in charge, so......

Cole Aldrich will be the pick

even if we win the lottery

If he picks Cole Aldrich, a mob of people with torches and pitchforks will raid Conseco….. So I guess I’ve gotta go buy my pitchfork…..
