Game Thread #49: Toronto Raptors at Indiana Pacers

Toronto Raptors at Indiana Pacers, Feb 2, 2010 7:00 PM EST

@
Indiana Pacers
26-2216-32
February 2, 2010 - 7:00PM EST
Conseco Fieldhouse
Radio: 1070AM WFNI   TV: Fox Sports Indiana
Probable starters:
Jarrett Jack PG Earl Watson
Sonny Weems SG Brandon Rush
Antoine Wright SF Mike Dunleavy
Chris Bosh PF Danny Granger
Andrea Bargnani C Troy Murphy

The Indiana Pacers finish up a home-and-home series tonight when they play the Toronto Raptors for the fourth and final time this season at Conseco Fieldhouse.

The Raps will still be short rookie DeMar DeRozan and also Hedo Turkoglu who is still recovering from running face-first into Mike Dunleavy's elbow on Sunday evening. Turkoglu fractured an orbital bone below his right eye which certainly didn't tickle.

The Pacers will be without head coach Jim O'Brien as he tends to family business after the passing of his mother-in-law. Lester Conner will call the shots tonight from the bench. With JOB's absent, maybe the sense that eveyone needs to step up will provide an energy boost to a Pacer team in serious need of a jolt.

Here is Bruno's Scouting Report.

Starting lineup back to big

Coach Conner starting Roy and Murph again.

Real quick

Coach Conners initial answer to when you do become a head coach, how much of Jim O’Brien will we see in your style? Answer: Not much.

Classic.

by Tom Lewis on Feb 2, 2010 6:06 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Sounds like he's looking for

crowd support. He surely reads all the negative press about JOB.

by IndyDan on Feb 2, 2010 6:35 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Based on that answer

He should be hired as our full-time coach immediately

Belinelli starting instead of Wright

Hibby, Murph, Granger, Rush, Earl for Pacers.

by Tom Lewis on Feb 2, 2010 6:39 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Hibby vs Bosh

is gonna be the big matchup. If Big Roy can stay out of foul trouble, he should be able to have a big night. You can be sure Bosh wants some iso on Roy. Come on big fella, put a nice game together tonight!

by jantz101 on Feb 2, 2010 6:42 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

How useless does it seem

to post the probable starters 3 hours before game time Cornrows? Are you ever tempted to just to put “anyone’s guess” for some of the starting slots?

by jantz101 on Feb 2, 2010 6:48 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Looking forward to a game tonight

Does the team show up? Oh, yeah. Do it.

Raps announcers again

I rarely get the home broadcast on League Pass. One more reason to get good again…

by jantz101 on Feb 2, 2010 7:06 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Do you have that through DirecTV? I had the preview through Comcast and thought about buying it, but the video quality was terrible. I heard thought that Directv offers league pass in HD.

The quality is good, but the screen is small :)

15-5 over their last twenty are the Raps

I’ve never heard of such a streak. Must be nice.

Dude

10-10 would be a good streak…

THANK YOU

Great reaction for Brandon to catch that ball like a Colts WR.

Imagine that

didn’t we talk about it last time facing TOR that it’d be nice to see the Raptors have to deal with us defensively when Hibbert was in the post?

out indefinitely

and not able to participate in any contact drills, also indefinitely. As, lester conner mentioned before the game tonight, the rook’s season is almost a wash at this point.

by Tom Lewis on Feb 2, 2010 7:25 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

of course

so is the Pacers’ season, so if and when he’s available he should at least be able to get some minutes.

by Tom Lewis on Feb 2, 2010 7:26 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

New news

but it involves no timetable on a return. Probably mid Feb to March right guys?

hoping Feb

but I think that’s just because we just started Feb.

by Tom Lewis on Feb 2, 2010 7:26 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Thanks

I figured. After reading up on ear infections, it’s basically it’ll happen when it happens. :(

Think this might be the reason that Indiana has been asking for a lot in return for Murphy? Or is Bird just greedy?

Sooo

will the real Danny Granger be making an appearance soon? It feels like forever since we’ve see a 25 + point game out of 33. Let’s go DG, get that stroke back!

Buckner

Saying Granger still looks hobbled. Doubt we’ll see Danny at all this year, unfortunately. Just hope he comes back in full force next season.
