The Pacers have real competition right now in the Knicks. Many people say that their current wining streak is a fluke because of the quality of the opponents they play. I think those people are underestimating the Knicks too much. I don't care who the wins come against, a 5 game winning streak and 9 wins out of 10 in the NBA are no easy matters. Just ask our beloved Pacers. The Pacers' season so far has been nothing short of up and down, which is evident of their record. Although the Pacers have taken the fight to their opponents in every game this season, they still leave so much to be desired.
The Players often talk of their dissatisfaction in their 10-9 record and their progress towards consistency. Every team talks about consistancy, yet, only the good teams are able to man up on their words. The Pacers have played nearly a quarter of the season, with practices in between those games. The time for gelling and developing chemistry is over. It is time for action, and action in terms of consistency. It is not early anymore. If the Pacers are truly genuine about their effort on a nightly basis, its time to show it in a prolonged stretch of games. No longer can the inexcusable losses to the 76ers, the Rockets, the Bucks, and even the Suns be followed up with apologies and regrets. Just save those sorry comments; those regretful monologues tend to be quite repetitive in sports and no ones needs to hear an athlete talk about needing to put forth more energy when they're paid wealthy salaries to show up. Forget all the talking, just do it, or else we will be going in circles the whole season pondering about the losses that would've, should've, could've.
