Mike Brown, lets see that resume

Seriously. What do you think? Mike Brown was Rick Carlisle's top assistant before everything got shipped to hell air via air freight. Before that though we racked up a franchise record 62 wins. Cleveland went looking for someone to coach a spoiled little selfish phenom, and they thought Brown was the right choice. For some reason, I just visualize Mike Brown as a good candidate to replace Jim O'Brien... but shit, it seems anyone at this point will do.

Now, I don't know exactly what happened in Cleveland and why Mike Brown got fired. I honestly think he had his hands tied behind his back dealing with a pre-madonna superstar. The franchise bent over backward to take it in the ass from the King, and the owner was happy to oblige to any of Lebron's requests. That included black-balling a coach named Mike Brown. In reality, Mike Brown was setup for failure by Dan Gilbert and Lebron James. I have a feeling he could do the job well, but I'm not sure. I would love to hear what other people think.

Just to nitpick...

It was 61 wins that year. Also, it would appear, from the things I’ve heard, that Mike Brown isn’t the best choice for head coach. I don’t know much myself, because I don’t watch any games besides one’s involving the Pacers (just not interest in other teams). I lean more in the direction of Mike Woodson, I love that every year that he was the head coach at Atlanta they had a better record the following year. I would have confidence in him, on the plus side he’s a local boy.

I'd like Woodson

or Mark Jackson.

as long as JOB is gone, just about anybody would be an improvement. I am sick of hearing about “players that don’t fit his system” CHANGE YOUR SYSTEM!!!!!!!

I think Woodson'd be a great pick

And think he’d love to come back here (we need to consider that). Wouldn’t be upset about bringing back Lester Conner and giving him his shot either. And steal Quin Snyder from Philly as an ass’t.

I don’t want Mark Jackson. The man has never coached a day in his life and we want him to coach this team at an extremely critical juncture? Being a bad announcer with annoying catchphrases doesn’t qualify you to be a head coach in the NBA. Pay your dues Mark.

That worries me most with Brown

He couldn’t construct a competent offense around the most dynamic player in ages. Now part of that could’ve been on that particular player adlibbing and undermining the offense, but even still, the Cavs offensively were not a sum of their parts. I’d love to have Brown as an assistant, but as a head man? Not so sure. Not unless you give me an assistant who’s brilliant offensively.

I think Woodson is similar to O’Brien in the sense that I see them as transition guys. They’ll get you to a certain point, but they can’t get you over that point. I don’t think Woodson is the right fit for moving this team forward. I’m not sure who is, but it’s neither of those two, and I see no reason why it would be Mark Jackson either.

I want no part of Mark Jackson

When did becoming an announcer = head coach material? Get real… if he wanted to be a HC so bad he would be putting in the time as an assistant somewhere.

And I don’t want anymore failed coaches. That is the most frustrating thing about the NBA… their insistence to hiring retread, fired coaches.

We need to do our research and take a chance on an assistance coach somehwere. Who cares if they have a name. get someone that has been learning under these long term, successful guys like Pop, Sloan, Jackson, Rivers, ect… someone that has been around WINNING for a long time and learned from these guys.

Maybe like a Brian Shaw? He has been interviewing lately hasn’t he?

As long as the next coach excels at developing younger players and is willing to play them, that would be terrific.

Coach

Byron Scott should have been hired this past summer. Since he’s not available, giving Mike Woodson a shot would be nice!

Scott is a stubborn ass coach too

who benches young players for no reason and buries them
