Granger has to go

I posted a comment about Danny Granger a couple of weeks ago about him having to wake up and smell the coffee, but it seems that even espresso cannot wake him up.  I was watching the Boston game and saw Ray Allen blow right by DG with his jockstrap still on the parcay floor. Then watch him look at Nate Robinson at 5'6" run right past him for an uncontested layup. Not only did DG shoot 25 percent from the floor, but he was 1 for 7 on 3 point FGs.

Lets face it, DG is no better than a possible 8th man for the Pacers and until Bird realizes this, the Pacers will only win against the bottom feeders in the league. My recommendation is to play Hibbert, McRoberts, Dunleavy, Rush, and Collison, Then have Hansbrough and TJ Ford off the bench and then possibly Granger as an 8th man.

There is no hustle from what I see from DG and all he does is sit out on the perimeter and chuck up one of his three bricks. This team will be much better with Dunleavy and Rush as they at least make moves to the paint for better percentage field goals

Clearly

pwalnuts has written the best fanpost of the year. I mean, I’ve read some crazy stuff on here, but this one takes the cake. Thanks!

what?

alright i dont’t know what your beef with granger is but he is obviously our best player. sure he has struggled somewhat this season. but he can still drop 20-30 with ease. his defense may be lagging but he is still our best player. i would personally be deeply upset with the organization if granger was traded. he has worked so hard to become the face of this franchise. this guy is untouchable as bird has stated when it comes to trades.

Hahahahahahaha...

Because clearly a guy that has averaged 17 ppg on 44.5% shooting, 38% from behind the arc, and 84.4% at the charity stripe clearly is an 8th man on any team. That’s why he was an all-star. That’s why he was an MIP. I know, he has struggled. I know, he isn’t gonna be Lebron or Kobe. But I’ll be damned if anyone says he’s an 8th man on an average team like ours. You crazy. This is the kind of stuff Trolls write. Straight crazy.

Be positive

If you look at this seasons stats, DG is shooting 43.2 percent, which is still 11th on the team. Not to mention, his scoring average has now dropped to 21.1 for this season. That can only be attributed to his 20 to 30 points per game against bottom feeders. I am not against DG, but he needs to do more around the basket and not depend on those bricks that he continues to throw up. I have been an avid fan of the Pacers since the ABA and have not lived in Indy since the 90’s, but I still enjoy watching them. I watch them on a nightly basis through the NBA league pass and it just frustrates me to see this happening. The Pacers are a good team, but they need some leadership and from what I see DG is not the answer. If Bird cannot realize this, then he needs to go also. Either put up or get out

what is DG’s minutes vs the 10 players b4 him? im SURE he plays more minutes and has a better chance to miss more than the rest of the team. Especially at least 4 players that are in front of him. n granger might b 17th in the league for ppg but hes still ranked with his gold meadalist teammates… http://www.nba.com/statistics/player/Scoring.jsp?league=00&season=22010&conf=OVERALL&position=0&splitType=9&splitScope=GAME&qualified=Y&yearsExp=-1&splitDD=

Palnuts = justplainnuts

I don’t argue with crazy people.

When you see Granger in the All Star game just pretend it’s not really him. . .

I’m beating a dead horse at this point but O’Brien’s offense is stupid and I think our field goal % would be better of we let Darren play the game and I think the rest of our team would thrive. Also…. Jarrett Jack may be back on the market…. you all know I’m excited!

WTF?

Yeah lets get rid of Danny and play the lineup you projected..i mean it worked sooooo well when he didn’t play against the Bulls…they scored all of like 72 points..yeah Danny has to go…Do u even watch the games? hes not kobe but hes not kwame brown either..ugh

Wow

You’re a loon. I would have let him go for a very, very high draft pick, a PG of the future and salary help last offseason, but now we have two of those three things. We just need a new coach.

Whats up with Danny Last night. . . I mean he only scored 27pts. . . Can’t we trade him for Shawn Marion or something???

by daledavis on Dec 21, 2010 8:06 AM EST reply actions

No joke

Sure he assisted Posey’s late three, but he totally CHOKED on the last second shot. Good thing he had our should be starting SF cutting to the rack to tip it in.

GRANGER IS A GOOD PLAYER

Granger is a good player. He can stroke the ball with the best of them. He would benefit greatly from playing along side a PG that can consistently create open shots for him the way Rondo does for Ray Allen. The problem is that the Pacers offense doesn’t give the PG the freedom to create so DG has to either get open on screens or force a lot of contested shots. When he’s open you can almost guarantee it’s going in!
