Marvel Comics and NBA

So, I guess Marvel Comics and ESPN teamed up to draw up some pseudo-comic book covers depicting storylines of the year to come for each of the 30 teams.  There are some really incredible mock ups, such as Cleveland's that has No. 6 leaving his Cavs jersey in a trash can, and some really stupid looking covers.  Unfortunately, it looks like the Pacers fall into the latter category.

What is that?  What is that supposed to represent?  Who is this wizard and why are the players in an hour glass?  Why are there so few white players?  When did Larry Legend start looking like a woman?  Can someone out there interpret this for me?  Thoughts on the other covers?
