Pacers Preseason Schedule Released

Get ready to pack your bags and head toward your nearest airport or car if you plan on catching more than two Indiana Pacers preseason games this year. The blue and gold open the preseason with a home matchup on Oct. 2 against Chicago, but the team's trip to Asia and other road games will keep the team mostly away from Indianapolis.

The Pacers play six opponents during the preseason -- Chicago, Houston, New Orleans, Orlando, San Antonio and Denver. The Nuggets and Pacers play each other twice as they thrill crowds in Taipei, Taiwan and Beijing, China. Here is the complete preseason schedule.

Oct. 2 vs Chicago, 7 p.m.
Oct. 8 vs Denver, @ Taipei Arena, Taipei, 7:30 a.m.
Oct. 11 @ Denver, @ Wukesong Arena, Beijing, 12 a.m.
Oct. 16 vs Houston, 7 p.m.
Oct. 17 @ New Orleans, 8 p.m.
Oct. 21 @ Orlando, 7 p.m.
Oct. 23 vs San Antonio, @ Assembly Hall, Bloomington, Ind., 7 p.m.

UPDATE: The Pacers just released a "revised" schedule that notes the Oct. 23 game against San Antonio is still scheduled to be played at Assembly Hall, except it's now the Assembly Hall in Bloomington, Ind. That makes a lot more sense than the game being played in Champaign, Ill., which the schedule originally stated when it was released earlier today. The original schedule also said the Pacers contest against Orlando on Oct. 21 would be played in Columbus, Ohio. That turned out to be wrong as well. It must have been a rough day for whoever put this schedule together this morning. The schedule above has been changed accordingly.

Value City Arena? Assembly Hall in Champaign?

Why? I think you couldn’t pick two more random NBA teams to play at Champaign and Columbus. What are they celebrating? Why such random places? It doesn’t even appear to be part of an NBA thing. Weird.

The Pacers must have agreed with you that playing at Champaign and Columbus was a little ridiculous. Both games were changed by this afternoon as the Pacers will actually play in Bloomington, Ind., and Orlando instead.

Glad they saw my comment

I might have to entertain swinging down to Assembly Hall in Bloomington. That’d be fun to see.
