Bruce Bowen???
I see now that Bruce Bowen is being waived? Is this a guy that could possibly help our team? Is there even a way to get him here? Just one more thing for everyone to ponder.
I wouldn't mind seeing a guy like Bowen here to replace Daniels, would help on the wing and a massive Defensive upgrade to our current situation. Just wondering what everyone else thought, and if it was even a possibility?

He would fit in with the teams new priority on defense, as he has remained a top tier defender even as he has aged. However he is a guy who has been around the league a long time and has played on multiple championship teams, I don’t see him signing with anyone who isn’t in the championship discussion.
anyone think...
he might just go back and resign with the spurs?

The original rumor
was that he won’t go back to San Antonio and that Cleveland, Orlando and Boston are the main contenders in getting him. I’m not sure what the evidence is that he won’t go back to the Spurs (besides less playing time and money) but it would seem to be a logical destination as long as too many bridges weren’t burned.
cornrows...
any inclination that the Pacers might even talk to him?

Well the Pacers still have one roster spot to fill (the 14th) and it appears they’ve still got their focus on a small guard-type player such as Luther Head for that spot. Bowen doesn’t fit the mold, but he obviously represents the defensive-minded shift that we’ve seen the team take this summer. I’d imagine they would at least put a call in. I doubt it will go much further than that however.
what a shame...

no. way.
did anyone watch spurs games this year? he is not the same bruce bowen, and don’t you think it is weird the spurs aren’t trying to keep him? if they were going to resign him, they would have done so already. his best trait as a defender was getting UP IN THEIR GRILL, and he doesn’t seem quick enough to do that anymore without getting whistled. if the best run franchise in the nba doesn’t want you, there is probably something missing. and what would the pacers do, take away minutes from our young players to give to BB? no way, muchacho!
agreed
he’s lost a step and he really needed that step. His career really hasn’t been that great, especially early on, and he has had to claw his way for any PT he’s gotten. Now that he’s older, it’s just not there. Moreover, I think we’re all hoping that Dahntay Jones can provide the same type of game as Bowen.
