"Ridiculous contract, this year's Eduardo Najera. What makes it worse is Indy was already in danger of being a tax team next year, even before paying Jarret Jack, and the Pacers already had a stopper-in-training with Brandon Rush."

Ridiculous contract? How about 10 mili a year for Varejao? 11 mili for 4 years is not ridiculous for a proven vet who will start games this year.

Here is what Hollinger said about that...
A lot of people are killing the Cavs for the Varejao deal. I didn’t think it was that bad. The last year is a partial guarantee, the per-year numbers aren’t ridiculous (he starts under $7 mil this year), and if they pushed it much lower OKC or Portland could have made a push for him — remember, he was unrestricted. He’s not a scorer, but he’s an elite defending big who can rebound. Historically, teams have paid for that.
I, personally, think he has lost his mind. elite defending big? for someone who doesn’t block shots? that is a bit of a stretch. “good defender” I can buy. Great? wut???

Yeah
Especially when they are payin for Shaq. How come he doesn’t make a remark about how they are paying someone as much for one year as the Pacers did for four years to do the same thing another guy does. Lost his mind is right. I just think he doesn’t want to back step on his Jones comment.

well according to hollingers PER, Jones is terrible. Saying anything good about Jones would be saying something bad about his PER.
of course, using his PER, Flopsy is below average as well and is getting 50 million shrugs

i can understand why you are upset about the signing, but here are some positives you can use from it, after watching last season you would almost have to be excited for them taking the heat on the defensive end from Rush. the kid is so solid on the offensive end. Watch his technique on his shot it really is great, and with training he is only going to get better, i see him as our second star in the making that we need to be grangers robin. ……also this kid is on the way up in his career rather then down multiple teams showed interest in him, and we signed him to a very nicely designed offer….this means if he plays a solid year(which i expect he sounded excited with his role he will be taking here) we have excellent trade bait next summer when lots and lots and lots of teams are going to be UNLOADING very talented players in the hopes on landing the wade, bron, bosh, etc FA next summer…..i dunno its still not the big spark we need to get going but its another small step towards that ignition……….
