Summer League Open Thread #2: Indiana Pacers vs. Oklahoma City Thunder

PrintGame 2 from Orlando has the Indiana Pacers summer league team taking on the Oklahoma City Thunder which should provide plenty of interesting action. A couple of players with local ties played for the Thunder in their win over Orlando yesterday. Former IU Hoosier, D.J. White appeared to have a solid outing scoring 13 points and grabbing 9 rebounds in 32 minutes of PT. Former Hoosier and Pike Red Devil, Robert Vaden scored a bucket in his 7 minutes of burn. The Thunder also have Russell Westbrook, James Harden, B.J. Mullens and Shaun Livingston running with them this summer.
As for the Pacers, it will be intersting to see if Leo Lyons and/or Aaron Jackson get some run tonight. Jim O'Brien mentioned that one of the 13 players was hurt although he didn't specify who. I was assuming he was splitting up game time for the free agents so Jackson and Lyons would get a look tonight. I guess we'll find out tonight.

Ross Siler reports from Orlando on Hansbrough's first summer league game for the Pacers."I can probably score 30 points in an NBA game and someone would still question whether I can play in the league or not, so I don't care," Hansbrough said. "I'm not out to satisfy other people." He is not the highest-drafted rookie in Orlando this week -- that distinction belongs to Oklahoma City's James Harden -- but Hansbrough might be the featured attraction.

At least shots are falling. Couple nice strokes from James Harden and Trey Johnson.

How certain are we that
Blalock isn’t Tinsley out there? I am not convinced. They look too much like each other in grainy online video feeds.

Hansbrough will always be able to get buckets off garbage inside. That’s a talent.

Changed his shot in mid-air to finish. Next time down took a hit to the face from DJ White for two more free throws.
I am actually loving the Hansbrough pick right now. At first I was a little stunned and annoyed, because I love Blair. But I started accepting it as Blair dropped (meaning something was really wrong with his knees). The more I thought about it I started thinking: We are building a very good young team with a good young core. Hansbrough’s destiny in life is to become an energy 6th or 7th man on a championship team. Right now I am actually thinking that Dick Vitale may be right: I could really see him throwing up a 14 and 8 within 3 years.
