David Thorpe on Pacers Summer League
David Thorpe, an ESPN.com commenter and private coach to several current and aspiring NBA players, covered the first Pacers summer league game on Twitter (@coachthorpe). Here are his thoughts concerning the Pacers:
Roy Hibbert looks leaner. Still can not make athletic plays. But he's comfortable in the pinch post.
Brandon Rush has some footwork issues when he shoots. But when he gets balanced, it's pure.
First Tyler Hansbrough shot? Blocked by Rob Kurz. But he got a nice steal and went coast to coast for the dunk.
Hibbert's brain helps him to be in the right spot all the time. But his body let's him down.
Speights-hotsy totsy (24 pts so far). Hibbert hotsy notsy (6pts and a beat slow).
Hansbrough is the bright spot for Indy. He's doing little things, like flashing ballside and racing to the rim.
Hibbert is better off staying on the blocks instead of the pinch post. He's too limited out there.
Pacers win game one in OT.
Hansbrough had 17, and was a big spark. Speights petered out, and finished with 28.

Cool, thanks
Thorpe works with a lot of NBA players so it’s interesting to read his take on some of the details he’s looking for.
