Jamario Moon to the Cavs
And another swingman that has been discussed around here is going to the Cavs...
http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=4339432
After discussing Anthony Parker for a few days and seeing him get signed there, now the Cavs are going after a sort of similar player that we had discussed. They are really loading up on the swingman. I assume they're looking for guys to guard VC and Rashard Lewis (and Paul Pierce for that matter).
Now that we have Watson and Jones, it seemed less likely that we would get him. Oh well

Strange
You don’t often see the team with the best record the year before have arguably the busiest offseason, adding players. I understand they are frantically trying to keep Lebron, lets see if it gets them anywhere next season…

sigh....
of course the pacers wouldn’t pull the trigger on a guy like him??? 1 more we see slip by. I really saw him in a pacers uniform this year, and if it doesn’t happen, Larry is going to have to make it up to me somehow… big time.

Don't forget
It’s a two-way street. The player has to want to join the Pacers as well.

Also
There were never any rumors that Bird was interested in him. You can’t blame Bird for not adding a guy just because you wanted him. I mean, you seem to know your basketball, but none of us is getting paid for this stuff. It’s not like he drafted Tyler Hansbrough over Earl Clark and let the fans’ favorite player walk…um…wait a minute…
Just kidding. In all seriousness, I think the Pacers were a few pieces (and a few less injuries) away from the playoffs last season. Bird’s done a good job adding the type of players the team needs to compete immediately and have the financial flexibility to be a contender in the long term. I figure there’s some plan to get a one-year player back from Boston for Marquis Daniels, and it makes more economic sense for Bird to do that than for him to add a guy like Moon to a long-term deal. But for the record, I love Moon too, and hoped we’d go for him.

it was more for comedy than anything else.
yea I never heard anything about the pacers even THINKING about moon, just wishful thinking. I even sent Larry an email about him HAHA. It’s just going to hurt even worse now though if he ends up being the piece we are missing… an athletic 3-4 that can score from the wing and block shots, that should be a guy that everyone goes after, im honestly REALLY surprised that he’s been floating around like he has. If moon actually got a chance to stick with a team, he would be a staple without a doubt. Just wait to see how he does in Cleveland, I have a feeling we are all going to wish he had come here.

I sort of agree
in that it seems like teams should going after, but the fact that it took a while and that he hasn’t stuck around with a team yet is probably telling. He definitely has the potential but if he was really a consistently well playing 3-4 who is athletic, can score and block shots, the Raptors and Heat would have never given him up. To me it’s just an issue of playing well consistently. He has the tools to be really good but isn’t using them well yet.

see that's the thing...
He’s honestly kind of like Lamar Odom. I’ve had Moon on every fantasy team of mine for the past 2 years. He will have a GREAT game 1 day, then not even get to play the next. Then come in the next day and not play well then have another great one. But with consistent play, he will put up consistent numbers. Even with the sporadic playing, he’s been a top 100 fantasy player each of the last 2 years.
