Daniels to Celtics

Looks like Marquis Daniels is going to Boston. I don't know how much playing time they can offer him there, but I guess he wants to go to a contender. Here's the link:

It says there's a possibility of the Pacers working out a sign and trade with Boston, so maybe they can at least get something in return. What do you guys think we could get for him? need three words

im going to go look at the contracts...

after looking at the contracts, I really don’t see anything involving ONLY the celtics that would really benefit the Pacers unless the Celtics wanted to give up Rondo and Perkins, but i seriously doubt it.

So i have no idea what’s up Bird’s sleeve, he seems to always surprise me. At least we can now see there really is something up there and it’s not all just a bluff. I’m interested.

Daniels commits to Boston
(Jul 17 8:22 ET )
The News
The Boston Herald is reporting that Marquis Daniels has committed to joining the Boston Celtics. The Celtics are still in talks with the Pacers on how to get the deal done.

Our View
The Celtics have been looking for a backup small forward, and Daniels looks like the man to fill that void. He averaged 13.6 points per game last season, and he should fit nicely into the rotation in Boston.

Tony Allen

$2.5 million expiring contract next year. He’s injury prone and undersized for a two guard (6’4) but he’s an athletic defensive stopper like Dahntay Jones. If he can stay healthy until Dunleavy comes back he could come off the bench at two and Jones could play three.

"You're hitting the wrong person. Don't you know you're hitting Ron Artest?"

we wont be trading for allen to keep him that’s for sure with the signing of watson.

For the signing of Jones?

Do you mean that? We’d find room for Allen this next year, but we didn’t sign Watson to keep him for the long term either. He’s gone next summer unless we absolutely fall in love with his game here. I just don’t think we’ll be buyers in his sweepstakes next year.

with the signing of both of them...

but you are right, unless watson just plays out of his mind this year, i doubt we will even make much of a run at him next year. That’s kind of what I was hoping we would do with trading murphy to the Jazz for Boozer’s 1 yr contract. If he plays out of his mind, and wants to stay here great, we’ll probably pay him. If he doesn’t want to stay here, great we just cleared 12million off the salary cap for one of the best FA markets in the last decade.
