Amare is the answer....

Ford + Murphy + Foster = Amare'

Star-divide

To compete in the East over the next 2 to 3 years a dominate big man is a must.

Boston has Garnett - remeber Paul Peirce before Garnett (seemed alot like Granger)

Orlando - Howard

Cleveland - Shaq

The TJ Ford rumors all started in Pheonix.

couple that with ....

Those local in Indianapolis may have notice Sunday there was an article about the the Suns roster moves not being complete yet. Tell me how is that news in Indianpolis?

Can you Imagine ROY, AMARE, GRANGER, RUSH, JACK ... BACKED UP BY DUNLEAVY, HANS, DIENER, MCBOB, PRICE, and whoever else makes the roster ... I'm imagine this being a stronger roster than last years.

maxing out amare if we trade for him scares me to death

First off… he is an offensive monster. If he is healthy and in his prime, he will propel us into the 2nd tier in the east, right behind the orlando/cleveland/boston trio. He would bring excitement, which would bring fans.

it just scares me to max out a player who depends so much on his freakish athletic ability. what happens when he loses a step in 4 years? he has already had 3 seasons where he has played in less than 60 games.

I just really don’t want another jermaine oneal situation…

but then again, you have to take a chance here and there if you want to make it back to the top. can’t play it safe all the time. and trading those three (or basically anyone on our roster) for amare would be a steal pure talent wise.

Depends....

It would really depend on the deal.

Whatever worries I have about Amare’s production going forward would be much less important if we could get rid of Murphy’s (or god willing, Tinsley’s) contract.

Once again this problem with all of these proposed trades

is that fact that there are a ton of teams interested in trying to acquire Amare. The Pacers do not have good trade pieces compared to other teams. Did you see what the warriors were offering? Anthony Randolph, Brandon Wright, Andris Biedrins, and Stephon Curry?! that appeals a little more than Ford, Murphy, and Foster for a team that is looking to dump money and rebuild with young players.

yeah our trade pieces aren’t much… not a lot of talent or salary cap relief on our team.

Yeah, the Warriors reneged on Curry. I think they darn well should have too. With the four that I listed above it would be hard not to trade anyone for them (other than the obvious, Wade, Kobe, Lebron). I love Amare as much as anyone and getting him through trade would be best case scenario for the Pacers. He fits exactly what they need and he has shown a full recovery from his knee surgery. I think maxing him out makes sense for the Pacers. It’s hard to do, but I think he would be as worthy as anyone for the Pacers. I just don’t realistically think there is any way we can get him to Indy with our roster. We would have to get a third team involved and I think any team that is in on this deal is going to want Amare and not the leftovers.

It sure is fun living in fantasy ... huh

I just looked at the East and said to myself how can we get back in the top 5? …. Amare stood out becasue we already have great role players … a good offense … and a superstar … but 1 superstar means 30-35 wins in this new NBA … take away the superstar and you’re at 15 wins … ad the dominate big and you’re looking at 50 wins
