Pacers Select UConn's A.J. Price In Second Round
The Indiana Pacers picked up A.J. Price, a point guard with a little size and a dicey resume with the 52 pick in the NBA Draft. I was really hoping Patty Mills would be the targeted PG since he was still on the board, but the Pacers went with size in selecting Price who checks in at 6'2" and 190 pounds.
Price had a great season for UConn directing their run to the Final Four. Where it gets dicey is when you consider the knee surgery which robbed Price's game of some athleticism. Price also missed the 2004-05 season due to a brain hemorrhage and the 2005-06 season due to suspension for his role in the theft of some laptops from a UConn dorm.
Hopefully all of the drama is behind Price and he can secure a spot on the Pacers' roster.

I like it
Price is a solid prospect in round 2.
Hopefully he gets to spend ample time in Ft. Wayne next year working on his game.

I really wanted patty, i just thought he could be special, but AJ might be alright, i dont see him getting to much
playing time. if any, at all.

Love this pick. I'm downright giddy.
Show Some Respect. This player most definitely has the skills to play in this league. Was arguably the best player on one of the best teams in the nation for a couple years now. He’s been trained by one of the top hall of fame college coaches in the country, particularly when it comes to developing NBA talent. Coach Calhoun has done nothing but rave about this guys talent. I fully expect him to make the team and contribute in his first year depending on whether or not they resign jack or not.
Forget Patty Mills
Are we really comfortable w/ having no bench wing over 6’3 (ohhh we may bring back Steve Graham!)? Larry better work some magic come July 1 or I’m going to be extremely disappointed in this offseason.
Rodney Carney
At this point, this is a 38 win team regardless. I say sign Rodney Carney and get ready for next year.

I assume we're all thinking about the 2010 draft now, right?
John Wall? Ed Davis? Derrick Favors? eh?
"If you don't [draft me], I promise you I'll come back and kick your ass for the next 15 years."
John Wall! John Wall! John Wall! John Wall! John Wall!
But the Pacers wont pick him because by the time of next years draft he wouldn’t have completed 3+ years of college so he wouldn’t be a good pick for us
I hope AJ Price wont make the team
what if he takes summer classes?
and maybe he has some AP credit so he could have completed 2 years worth of credit. That wouldn’t be so bad, right?
hahaha, I have to laugh out loud at the thought of a top ranked high school player getting AP credits from high school

If we would've lost that last game to the Bucks
would we have gotten the 10th pick? Because I remember our records were close and I believe we had two more wins than them and if we lost us, mil, and charlotte all would’ve been 35-47
Didn't matter
Bird would have taken Hansboro with the 10th pick

I have to agree with those who favored Mills.
I was also sitting there just praying that each team ahead of us did not take Mills. He seemed like the perfect pick because we were looking for a PG going into the draft, and he has first round talent. However, I certainly do not think Price was a bad pick. He should actually be very solid. I just think Mills has a chance to be special.
