#52

I know the 52nd pick isn't sexy, but depending on if we keep it and how things go in Round 1, I am throwing out a name - Henk Norel from Europe. He is big and could possibly be the next Jeff Foster once Jeff Foster (MY FAV!!) is gone. Take a look.

Another name out there is Meeks. Look, I hate Meeks with a passion (I hate UK with a passion.). But he is a known commodity. I could see him as a shooter off the bench. I am not really for us taking him, but perhaps I have to put my NCAA preferences aside and admit that he might not be a bad late 2nd Round pick for the Pacers.

Just a thought, but I’m curious what others think.

Anyone been hearing anything...

on Danny Green or Wayne Ellington? It seems like all these Carolina guys are unfavored…I haven’t heard a word of either of these 2, Hansbrough is a sure first rounder now though, and Lawson is all over the board. Granted I am biased but they had an impresssssssive run in the NCAAs last year, and when Green played well, not only was the team a million times better, but he showed signs of being a good (serviceable) pro I thought. The one to watch next year is Ed Davis, he is going to be a stud. Hell be a lottery guy next year though, and hopefully we wont be in any kind of position to take him.

Also…there is an outside shot I have tickets to the draft tomorrow nite which would be unreal. Keep your fingers crossed for me, thanks.

Oh, no

We need you for the draft thread. To make up for it we’ll expect a photo essay of NBA draft suits. Hope it works out.

Meeks is my guy

He’d be a great scorer off the bench. Blair-Meeks would be my favorite draft.

posted by Marc Stein...

Posted by Marc Stein today on ESPN is this nugget of interest:

"In case you missed it on NBA TV this past weekend, perhaps the most well-sourced Pacers expert in the media — TNT’s Reggie Miller — said he expects Indy to deal T.J. Ford or Jarrett Jack to make room for a new point guard on draft day. After averaging a career-high 13.1 points per game last season, Jack actually becomes a restricted free agent July 1.

Yet you can see the larger point: Someone on the inside appears to have told Miller that one of those two definitely won’t be back next season with the Pacers, who likewise are still trying to rid themselves of Jamaal Tinsley."

hmm

I wonder how much Reggie would still be connected to insider information. I only say that because the roster has been completely overhauled since he left so he doesn’t have as many connections as he once did. I don’t doubt this and of course everyone thinks PG is a strong possibility, I just don’t how much I trust it based on it coming from Reggie.

I assume most of us agree that we’d rather hold on to Jack over Ford, right? Ford’s contract isn’t too bad for a starting caliber PG so maybe we could get something decent in return.
