And your 2009-2010 Starting Point Guard is.....

Alright, Draft Day is right around the corner, and it is safe to say Indy has more than a few question marks going into the season.  Point guard and Power Forward seem to be the 2 biggest holes on the team and the positions most speculated about.  I have my own opinions on who and what we should do, what does everyone else think?  Who do YOU want to see bringing the ball up with the Pacers down 1 and 10 seconds left next year?

Poll
Who do you want as the starting point guard for the 2009-2010 season?
Jarret Jack - resign him and move him to the point
44 votes
TJ Ford - give him a second chance
33 votes
Ricky Rubio - move up in the draft and give him the keys to the team
9 votes
Ty Lawson - High on some kind of Hollinger list, champion who improves all through college
6 votes
Tyreke Evans - move up in draft/hope he falls to us
7 votes
Brandon Jennings - that year in Europe will make him a star
14 votes
Jamal Tinsley - I just threw up on my keyboard
5 votes
(Inset veteran guard) - make some trades and get an established guard in the league

For the record..

I went with Jennings, for no other reason that I love the thought of a tall point guard, he seems like hes got a little bit of an edge to him, he is supposedly quick as lightning and we will have two of the premier “guys in the 2000s who rocked an 80s high fade” with him and Brandon Rush.

Hell, he’ll even give the Pacers some publicity. Everyones gonna wanna check out how that high school kid that went to Europe did. And maybe he’ll pass on some of his learned european toughness to “Troy Murder.” Word is now Lance Stephenson might be following his footsteps overseas.

I picked Jennings too

I like this what this can possibly do for Indiana in the future. I don’t know if we draft him he’ll be starting much at all in 09-10, and ultimately, with ten seconds left and down by one, I just want a PG who can bring it up the court and find Danny for a game winner (unless Jack has been on fire all night), but for the other 47:50, I’d love to have Jennings a part of that PG rotation.

My first choice for point guard

would be Jonny Flynn (even though he’ll probably long gone by the time our pick comes), but since he isn’t on the list I went with Jennings. Ha I love the 80’s fade too

Yea..

there was so many other (Flynn, Teague, Maynor, even Curry) thought I’d attempt to narrow it down a little.

Well I mean I'd like Rubio...

But I see no scenario where that’s possible.

Tyreke

I went with Tyreke. I really think the Pacers will do whatever they can do to trade down to 5 and grab him if he is available. As you guys can probably tell from all my other posts, I think he has superstar written all over him. This isn’t as plausible and likely as I am making sound, but I would sure love to see him in Blue and Gold. This is the one thing on draft night that would make me really excited. I would not be too unhappy with Jennings either. The Pacers need to draft a difference maker, not a role player with this pick. They are more than just role players away from being a top tier team in the east.

That is exactly how I feel too needless to say I voted for Evans

My second choice

is definitely Evans, its almost a toss up with him and Jennings. I am reeeaallly shocked at the amount of love given to resigning Jack and putting him at the point. He did win many people over last year (including me), but wow!

Jack

Is a young proven point guard with a high upside. He should be our pg pick this year.
