IC Cold Links: Of Mike Dunleavy's Knee and NBA Guard Prospects
Here are a few items of interest, including more positive news directly from Mike Dunleavy regarding his knee rehab. Also, interesting to read Chad Ford's info on draftable PGs. Sounds like Jonny Flynn and Ty Lawson are headed in opposite directions on League draft boards.

Can someone please...
copy and past chad fords list of PGs. I dont have Espn Inside Access or whatever it is.
no problem....
curry 2 surprises the hell outta me. And i have no idea why i have that hunch that Tyreke Evans is going to be the best or second best behind Rubio. I hope its the hunch that told me Deron Williams was gonna be a stud, not the hunch I had that Adam Morrison would be good haha. I am dying to get Tyreke Evans, I think he is going to take over immediately and be a rreaalll reaalll tough guard for opposing teams.

Agree that Evans will be good
However, I don’t see Evans as a PG in the NBA.
As a Memphis resident and alum, I can attest that he really isn’t overly interested in involving his teammates into the offense.
He was put at the point in December, moreso because he was the only guy on the Memphis roster who could get his own shot.
He is however, a decent slasher. His ball skills are more than passable as a wing. And he has a knack for getting to the rim.
He’s not an awesome shooter. More of a pure scorer, grinder type.
Think Nick Anderson when he was at the top of his game in Orlando.
100% worth the pick if he is available at 13.

thats dying to draft earl clark? I mean, if hes still available, it has to be a no brainer. Hes long and tall (6-10), and a great athlete. We desperately need a wing player and if he improves his jumper he could be a Rashard Lewis/ Lamar Odom type of guy.
Earl Clark
I think what you and others see in Earl Clark is exactly what the Pacers front office saw in Shawne Williams when they drafted him.
Rashad Lewis?
I can’t think of anyone who has improved a shot from “well below average” to “excellent”.
Not to be picky, buy Lewis isn’t a good comp to Clark. Lewis has predicated his game on being a deadly jump shooter. Shawne Williams or Rodney Carney are better comps to Clark. Heck, Joey or Stephen Graham are good comps to Clark.
Seems like these types of guys work their way into the first round every year. Guys who have all the “measureables”, yet they don’t excell in any one area.
Unfortunately more often than not, these guys have non-descript NBA careers. I’m tired of drafting “prospects” with upside, and am ready to Bird to draft some players. Even if said players will only excell in 1 or 2 areas.

Seems to me
Clark is lacking the fire that makes a good NBA prospect. Terrance Williams had it, but Clark seemed to skate along from time to time. Agreed that he has a tremendous amount of talent, but don’t know if he has the work ethic to succeed at the next level
I can see him
taking his jumper from below average to good. And Lamar Odom doesn’t have an excellent jump shot at all- but i see what you mean, we need players not prospects
