Danny Granger Set To Train With USA Basketball

Cliff Brunt reports that Pacers All-Star, Danny Granger will be one of 20-24 NBA players to participate in a USA Basketball training camp this summer as part of the first phase in selecting the 2012 USA Olympic team. CB tracked down Granger on vacation in Italy to find the forward excited about the opportunity.

“I think that’s the level everyone strives to get to,” Granger told The Associated Press by telephone from Italy. “You want to win an NBA championship, of course, but I think to play in the Olympics is something really special. It comes around just once every four years, and it’s a special opportunity.”

What a diference a year makes. Last year at this time we were wondering if Granger would be worthy of a contract extension. Now his status as a future Olympian is completely plausible.
