Danny Granger Wins NBA's Most Improved Player Award
Mike Wells reports (HT: Brandon) that the Indiana Pacers have scheduled a big presser tomorrow to announce that Danny Granger has squeaked by Devin Harris to win the NBA's Most Improved Player award.
According to Cliff Brunt's report, Granger's agent Mark Bartelstein has heard from the league officials and expects Danny to pick up the hardware.
I haven't followed the MIP award very closely in past years, but it seems like normally the award would be announced earlier in the rotation, certainly before the MVP award. They must've had trouble verifying all of the absentee ballots in the close vote between Harris and Granger.
What a great way for Granger to cap off a breakthrough season and considering he increased his scoring average by five points for the third season in a row, he is certainly deserving.

Yes sir
Granger joining solid Pacer company in Jalen Rose and Jermaine O’Neal as well as a few homegrown products like Alan Henderson and Scott Skiles for good measure. Doesn’t matter what kind of achievement award it is, it’s good to have home ties.

Opportunity is missed by most people because it comes dressed in overalls and looks like work.
