"Rush sucks?" Haters can repent here.

Last week I wanted to debate the value of the trade and I had several responses that said "Rush sucks!" and Bayless is an all-star etc etc etc.

The debate was so rediculous I did not even want to engage. So lets start this conversation over.

Anyone think we should have kept Ike Diogu and Jarryd Bayless now?

Would Bayless be guarding the other teams best player? Scoring 30 grabbing 10 boards etc. Brandon is looking more and more like a young Paul PIERCE and not like James Posey in which some have compared his first 60 games in the NBA to.

Where is the ceiling on Rush? 6th man? Starter? All-Star?

I would just say this...

HORRIBLE players have scored a lot more.

Look I’m a big fan of Rush (though I’m still firmly against the trade to get him) and believe he needed to be playing more throughout this dreadful year. But this was a meaningless game against the Wizards. Hopefully he’ll be great, but let’s not let one game overshadow his play for the bulk of the season.

Go Rush.

can we let two games do the overshadowing?

Realistically, you’re right, this could just as easily be the light turning on to start a great career or his one and only flash as a pro career. Considering how this season has gone (and the past few seasons), we need something positive to talk about and get our hopes up about.

Really?

You want people to repent on their personal opinion of Rush after seeing 60 games of the season all because the last two have been excellent. Oh and the fact that he played against the Chicago Bulls and the Washington Wizards those last two games shouldn’t factor in. Come on! Rush has a now four year history of turning it on for a few games and then disappearing for a month and you think two games is going to change that reputation? Really?

Its much more promising than if he had scored 11 plints each game…

No one said you must repent/recant ... This was your chance to save face.

Yes, we have watched 60 games of Brandon learning how to play and live life in the NBA. In the last 6 months he has cashed the biggest checks he has ever received, had to adjust to a new town a new lifestyle. Not to mention the expectations we all had as Pacers fans for the guy to succeed. (there were some extra expectations because of Bayless’ potential) Then when he wasn’t scoring 20 points a game he was branded as a miss. Never the less it is way to early to judge a rookie as a success or a failure.

Then minutes had to be found: he only had to beat out Mike Dunleavy Danny Granger Marquis Daniels Stephen Graham to get on the court. I am sure those guys didn’t want a rookie to beat them out of minutes them being veterans.

Bottom line is I am optimistic about our future. Brandon is going to be a big part of that future. This has been the best season for the Pacers in about 5 years and it is going to continue to get better.

Stephen Graham sucks

Also Dunleavy is what he is and at his age/ salary is not really a part of a winner. Daniels is on his way out after this season, so once Indy realized they can’t win this year its time to play the youth!

What man of pace said.

My 2cents

Rush has plenty of time and after seeing some of Bayless this year I actually like that deal. I feel like Brandon has quality starter upside if we build this team correctly around Granger. His ceiling is not very high but what makes him appealing is his floor is high. Ultimately we know what we will get and hopefully he keeps improving and we get even a little more.

With that said the real problem may be passing on Anthony Randolph. This guy has looked very solid in some games and by all accounts is a competitor. Oh well I guess.

Big Randolph fan .... now that is

6 months ago it was hard not to see that he weighed like 180lbs ….. kind of a big risk for a GM like Larry who’s still proving some things in terms of his front office abillities … Rush was the safe move … getting Randolph in a trade though, I would chapion that. deal
