Ramon Sessions available
Saw this here. It appears that Ramon Sessions is looking to get moved off the Twolves. The former Buck PG was signed this past summer to a 4 year, $16 million and change deal, but is now seeing backup minutes behind Jonny Flynn. David Kahn's still cleaning up his own mess up in the Twin Cities.
Sessions is 23 and has never been given more than 27 and a half minutes per game (last year), while putting up some fairly impressive numbers when you block out the 3PT%. His assist-to-turnover ratio in Milwaukee as a 21 and 22 year old is noticeably better than our own T.J. Ford's and in 08-09 he got to the line 4.5 times a game. If he ever improves his shooting, he could be really good. At the least, he seems to me like a solid bet for developing into the caliber of player who's a complimentary piece on a contending team.
This is the sort of incremental bettering move involving young talent that good teams have to make. I'm not a huge Bird basher and I'll give him credit for having some sort of plan in place, but he whiffed at filling out the point guard position in this past summer's draft, methinks.
Quick look at the TradeMachine suggests Earl Watson should go to a rebuilding backwater, perhaps along with Luther Head. Clears money off the books for Minnesota and gives the Pacers another young contributor. If Bird can do this as a buy-low move, there's no reason not to do it.
Whaddya think?

awesome
Love what you have to say about this scenario…….get rid of TJ Ford right now!!! Why the heck is our best option of taking a three at the end of the bucks game TJ Ford. Did anyone see the game…. TJ ford is a cancer on our team.
geez
Great Call
If the T’Wolves would agree to a move like this I would not think twice. We need to either move to get experience or move to get young talent. Being in the middle is making me sick cause we’re not going anywhere. If we can make a run at Ramon I agree with Matt N, when T.J. is in the game the ball movement is really bad…. he’s a great talent but cant be a floor general to save his life.
I love it!
I was just playing around as well…what about something along the lines of TJ Ford, Earl Watson for Ramon Sessions, Brian Cardinal? We lock up a SOLID PG for the next 3.5 years, we take on a year of Cardinal $6mil contract and at the end of next season we say ByeBye to Cardinal (maybe a package with his expiring contract and Murphy/Dunleavy will both be HUGE assets quicker than we think with their huge deals coming off the books in 2 yrs) Minny saves money, brings in viable backup PGs in TJ and Earl. Indy gets Sessions, an expriing contract after next year, and have Dahntay and Luther split backup PG duties.
OOOOOO!....
I like Captain Flitzy…. But i’d like to see if we could package Minny would wanna do it just for T.J.. They don’t wanna spend any more mobey in a losing season and they plain might not want another contract. But I really like where ur going with the deal. Plus we’d NEEEDDD to trade Cardinal with Murph or someone cause that makes our team like half-white… that’s a no-no. Maybe use Cardinal’s contract for a Anthony Randolph deal or Randy Foye? (I like Randy Foye and he’s gotta be available, they barely play him) Or even have a dream move to get Rudy Gay. I know I’m dreaming on that one but it’s fun to think about.
