Game Thread #23: Charlotte Bobcats at Indiana Pacers

Charlotte Bobcats at Indiana Pacers, Dec 16, 2009 7:00 PM EST

@
Indiana Pacers
10-138-14
December 16, 2009 - 7:00PM EST
Conseco Fieldhouse
Radio: 1070AM WFNI   TV: Fox Sports Indiana
Probable starters:
Raymond Felton PG T.J. Ford
Stephen Jackson SG Brandon Rush
Gerald Wallace SF Mike Dunleavy
Boris Diaw PF Troy Murphy
Tyson Chandler C Roy Hibbert

The Indiana Pacers try to add to their win total tonigh when the Charlotte Bobcats pay them a visit at the Fieldhouse. Mike Dunleavy will likely remain in the starting lineup with his 28 minute limit. What will be interesting is to see how Dunleavy is managed in a few days when the Pacers play four games in five days. I can only assume the minutes limit will temporarily go down.

But for tonight, no Dunleavy-related problems have been reported so he must've survived the 33 minute outing in Orlando without any ill effects. Jeff Foster wasn't so lucky. After throwing his body against Dwight Howard for 15 minutes on Monday, Mighty Mike Wells reports that Foster's back needs a bit more time to recover so he will not be available tonight. Double-knots on the shoes, Solo.

C'mon B. Rush!

Let’s stick it to Stephen Jackson!

by FortWayneKarl on Dec 16, 2009 6:11 PM EST via mobile reply actions

I'm all about a win tonight

Need revenge for that mail-in performance when we went to Charlotte.

by Nathan S. on Dec 16, 2009 6:14 PM EST reply actions

Bobcats 1-10

On the road. Can’t find an excuse we should lose tonight.

by Nathan S. on Dec 16, 2009 7:03 PM EST reply actions

I completely forgot

We made him look like an all-star last game.

Maybe we can just avoid any similarities to the last game. That’s what I want.

by Nathan S. on Dec 16, 2009 7:12 PM EST up reply actions

Ford and Hibby starting

Ford with a TO in the first 5 seconds of offense. AJ sighting tonight please?

by jantz101 on Dec 16, 2009 7:13 PM EST reply actions

Roy

Driving the lane like he’s 6’2".

by Nathan S. on Dec 16, 2009 7:14 PM EST reply actions

Duns

His minutes may not be a problem tonight. Already picked up a couple of quick fouls.

by Nathan S. on Dec 16, 2009 7:15 PM EST reply actions

But is staying in the game

And thank goodness for his silky smooth stroke.

by Nathan S. on Dec 16, 2009 7:15 PM EST reply actions

Quick start for the Pacers

12-5 lead early. 12+5=17. There are seventeen people in attendance tonight, it appears.

by Nathan S. on Dec 16, 2009 7:16 PM EST reply actions

Kings

trying to remedy their attendance problem tonight with $1 beer until halftime. Needless to say, I’m staying at home tonight for that one.

by jantz101 on Dec 16, 2009 7:18 PM EST up reply actions

Heard about that

Seems like a really bad idea…good call staying out of that mess.

by Nathan S. on Dec 16, 2009 7:19 PM EST up reply actions

Don't know which idea is worse

$1 beer, or ESPN showing Kings vs. Wizards in December

by jantz101 on Dec 16, 2009 7:21 PM EST up reply actions

Pacers 7-7 from the field

Offense is really coming alive thanks to Dunleavy.

by Nathan S. on Dec 16, 2009 7:18 PM EST reply actions

GREAT fast break by Murph

Pacers cruising here early, up 21-7.

by Nathan S. on Dec 16, 2009 7:19 PM EST reply actions

WOW

Who are these guys?

by IndyDan on Dec 16, 2009 7:19 PM EST reply actions

Bobcats

Don’t appear interested in moving around on defense.

by Nathan S. on Dec 16, 2009 7:23 PM EST reply actions

Roy got himself a pair of fouls

Shame, he was moving really well. Solo in.

by Nathan S. on Dec 16, 2009 7:23 PM EST reply actions

Drives me crazy

he gets into good position every time, but then jumps. He is not going to block every shot, just try to alter it with your hands up

by jantz101 on Dec 16, 2009 7:24 PM EST up reply actions

Rush

What’s with this dude’s free throws?

by Nathan S. on Dec 16, 2009 7:27 PM EST reply actions

Rhythm or not

He’s a two guard who’s shooting under .500 from the line. That’s inexcusable to me.

by Nathan S. on Dec 16, 2009 7:30 PM EST up reply actions

Ugh

didn’t know it was that bad!

by jantz101 on Dec 16, 2009 7:31 PM EST up reply actions

I believe

He’s 13-27. Ben Wallace shoots better than that nowadays, doesn’t he?

by Nathan S. on Dec 16, 2009 7:32 PM EST up reply actions

Pacers up 24-20

Bobcats playing good ball. They’re getting aggressive on defense and that’s confusing the Pacers.

by Nathan S. on Dec 16, 2009 7:29 PM EST reply actions

Don't think I like this lineup

Watson Jones and T-Brough are our only “scorers”

by jantz101 on Dec 16, 2009 7:33 PM EST reply actions

Hansbrough needs to dunk that

No nancy layups, just grab that and throw it down, erase the doubt of it being missed.

by Nathan S. on Dec 16, 2009 7:35 PM EST reply actions

Totally

that being said, I think he could have a good game tonight. Charlotte doesn’t have any bruisers to contend with him

by jantz101 on Dec 16, 2009 7:36 PM EST up reply actions

Nice graphic

9-9 to start
1-8 since.

Knew they’d come back to earth, but to CRASH back down? Bleh…

by Nathan S. on Dec 16, 2009 7:36 PM EST reply actions

Haha

I would love to say I was shocked by that graphic

by jantz101 on Dec 16, 2009 7:37 PM EST up reply actions

Yeah

Not a bad quarter. Tale of two quarters in one, but still an overall performance I’m pleased with. Need to not get flustered by Charlotte’s defense, move around, and not throw up obvious bricks, but still in good shape.

by Nathan S. on Dec 16, 2009 7:40 PM EST up reply actions

Bucks in town on Monday

Excited to see Jennings play. And lament that the Bucks took him three spots too high…

by Nathan S. on Dec 16, 2009 7:40 PM EST reply actions

Saw a bit of him the other night

Never seen him play before, didn’t know what to expect. He has some explosiveness and can shoot the ball

by jantz101 on Dec 16, 2009 7:42 PM EST up reply actions

Nice full court pass too

the kid can play, looking forward to seeing more of him in the future

by jantz101 on Dec 16, 2009 7:43 PM EST up reply actions

Some of that falls on Watson too though right?

I mean why would they cut when he is just dribbling the ball 37 feet from the basket…

by jantz101 on Dec 16, 2009 7:48 PM EST up reply actions

Everyone's to blame

Watson for finding himself at the half court line and the rest of the guys for just standing in position waiting on him to get out of his situation.

Eh, I’m just going to be pessimistic about it.

by Nathan S. on Dec 16, 2009 7:50 PM EST up reply actions

Yeah

its hard not to get frustrated when you see it happen in every game.

by jantz101 on Dec 16, 2009 7:53 PM EST up reply actions

IF he can get some buckets to fall…

by jantz101 on Dec 16, 2009 7:55 PM EST up reply actions

For real

Love the hustle, but he’s just not getting it to fall tonight.

by Nathan S. on Dec 16, 2009 7:56 PM EST up reply actions

Hey...

At least they’re getting offensive rebounds…

by Nathan S. on Dec 16, 2009 7:55 PM EST reply actions

There we go Murph

Price gets some good minutes, but struggles a bit shooting the ball

by jantz101 on Dec 16, 2009 8:00 PM EST reply actions

Duns with three fouls

Good from a minutes standpoint, but he keeps getting fouls, we can’t have him when we might need him at the end.

Though team’s doing well keeping it hovering around ten.

by Nathan S. on Dec 16, 2009 8:00 PM EST reply actions

14 assists on 17 FGs

Goood stat. Like to see the assists. Good sign of pretty solid movement.

by Nathan S. on Dec 16, 2009 8:03 PM EST reply actions

Good ball movement

would have loved to see Rush drain that 3

by jantz101 on Dec 16, 2009 8:04 PM EST reply actions

That might have been the longest 2nd quarter EVER!

by jantz101 on Dec 16, 2009 8:16 PM EST up reply actions

Ford to Hibbert

is looking good this game! 12 assists for TJ

by jantz101 on Dec 16, 2009 8:34 PM EST reply actions

damn roy

why is he trying to block everything cmon control your fouls dude

by Granger4MVP on Dec 16, 2009 8:35 PM EST reply actions

Ford finally

playing up to his potential

by Granger4MVP on Dec 16, 2009 8:37 PM EST reply actions

whats wrong with hibbert

he’s reaching for everything… he’s going against chandler….

by Granger4MVP on Dec 16, 2009 8:39 PM EST reply actions

He is obviously still learning

Hopefully he clears some of that up soon

by jantz101 on Dec 16, 2009 8:40 PM EST up reply actions

He seems like a smart player

I imagine he knows what he is doing wrong, it’s just a matter of training his body to not do those things!

by jantz101 on Dec 16, 2009 8:44 PM EST up reply actions

Felton and Price

look like they could be long lost brothers

by jantz101 on Dec 16, 2009 8:42 PM EST reply actions

i agree

they look alike about 90%

by Granger4MVP on Dec 16, 2009 8:42 PM EST up reply actions

Just about caught up, but WOW

What’s with all of the made shots and assists. Holy smokes!

by Tom Lewis on Dec 16, 2009 8:44 PM EST reply actions

Yeah!

3’s and assists huh?

by jantz101 on Dec 16, 2009 8:45 PM EST up reply actions

very very

pleasant to watch. hope everyone plays like this when danny comes back

by Granger4MVP on Dec 16, 2009 8:45 PM EST up reply actions

Wow

we are really playing ball right now

by Granger4MVP on Dec 16, 2009 8:47 PM EST reply actions

Oh no

we are going back to our old habits again….

by Granger4MVP on Dec 16, 2009 8:49 PM EST reply actions

im praying right now

that we don’t blow this big lead again

by Granger4MVP on Dec 16, 2009 8:57 PM EST reply actions

Im really liking

Brandon Rush he has good defense now only if the offense starts clocking

by Granger4MVP on Dec 16, 2009 8:59 PM EST reply actions

Totally

His defense of late has been great

by jantz101 on Dec 16, 2009 9:00 PM EST up reply actions

Nice

take advantage of the mismatch. Murph won’t miss that tonight.

by Tom Lewis on Dec 16, 2009 9:09 PM EST reply actions

Ooo, Watson

early shot and an airball. Not good.

by Tom Lewis on Dec 16, 2009 9:12 PM EST reply actions

Ugh

EJ. That was not pretty

by jantz101 on Dec 16, 2009 9:13 PM EST reply actions

why is Ford still

sitting in the bench?

i really think watson sucks

by Granger4MVP on Dec 16, 2009 9:14 PM EST reply actions

down 7

cmon bring in dunleavy and ford

by Granger4MVP on Dec 16, 2009 9:14 PM EST reply actions

i think its JOB's fault

for subbing in Dunleavy and Ford late…. really

by Granger4MVP on Dec 16, 2009 9:20 PM EST reply actions

FYI

Dunleavy is on a minutes limit.

by Tom Lewis on Dec 16, 2009 9:21 PM EST up reply actions

by Granger4MVP on Dec 16, 2009 9:22 PM EST up reply actions

by Granger4MVP on Dec 16, 2009 9:22 PM EST reply actions

by Granger4MVP on Dec 16, 2009 9:28 PM EST reply actions

RUSH

by Granger4MVP on Dec 16, 2009 9:31 PM EST reply actions

by Granger4MVP on Dec 16, 2009 9:31 PM EST reply actions

Whew

Charlotte looked more disoriented than we usually do.

by jantz101 on Dec 16, 2009 9:35 PM EST reply actions

dahntay

by Granger4MVP on Dec 16, 2009 9:35 PM EST reply actions
