With their record leveled at .500, the Indiana Pacers hit the road for a pair of games beginning Sunday evening at the Charlotte Bobcats. This game will fly under the radar considering the tip time is at 5:00PM in the heart of an NFL Sunday. Plus, there will be no local television broadcast of the game back to Indiana. As usual, Mark Boyle and Slick Leonard will provide the 1080i quality visuals with their radio call.
The Pacers enter a dangerous stretch of games as they continue to incorporate new faces into the lineup. Tonight's game against the Bobcats is the first of three games in four days for the Pacers. All three games are potential wins with Toronto and the L.A. Clippers closing out the trifecta. Obviously, all three can just as easily become losses without solid play from the blue and gold.
The combination of injured players returning (Murphy, Foster tonight, Dunleavy on Wednesday) to play with new faces (Dahntay, Earl, Hansbrough, Solo) on the roster means there will likely be several playing rotations that have never played together in an NBA game. Plus, they haven't even practiced much if any together as a unit. So the risk of slop is there at a time when the Pacers need to cash in some wins to keep a positive start of the season from turning sour.
Sorry to dwell on the negative amidst all of the good injury news, but I've seen this movie before and these weathering these situations are critical for the Pacers to find the success they are striving for this season. On a positive note, Tyler Hansbrough should receive a positive reaction when he makes his pro debut back in North Carolina.
For a Charlotte perspective, check out Rufus On Fire.
Leave your thoughts and observations on the game in the comments. I have a 2nd grade game at the same time but so I'll be catching up later, so keep me posted on how things are going.

Dangerous game
Bobcats amidst a 7 game losing skid, but a loss is very likely, it seems. I don’t feel too comfortable about this game, but hopefully I’m overthinking it.
The heck?
Game starts at five? Or I guess a few minutes after. They’re still doing Colts post game stuff.

You’ll have to sign up for NBA.com, but that’s all free, then just click on Audio League Pass and then click on “Indiana” to hear the Pacers feed. Or you can torture yourself with the Bobcats feed, haha.
Defense
Letting up too much to the Bobcats. This is the worst offense in the NBA, there’s no excuses to make them look good.
0-8 3P
8-27 overall. Ugly offensive night, dreadful defensive night. This team needs to quit screwing around.
Ball movement
Assists for Indiana: 1, Charlotte: 7. Granted, being able to hit shots is important, but we’re definitely not putting the ball in position to get easy baskets.
Bobcats winning the second 10-7
About half way through. I think we’re seeing that Bobcats offensive futility. No excuses to not get in the swing of things with this game.
I'm at the game
Might be the only guy with Pacer gear on. Lol

How's the crowd?
If you can respond anyway, haha. I know I couldn’t due to my phone’s lameness, but I want to know how many Hansbrough fans are there.
good many hansbrough fans
Well good many duke/unc fans like always.

This team
Cannot make a defensive stop to save their lives. This looks familiar to the first two games, but these issues happened without Murph in the lineup…what happened?
well my friend said
It is suppose to be on the fssouth channel and the listing says it on but they are showing womens college ball so maybe it isn’t televised.

Numbers
About even in a most areas, Pacers trail 11-6 in assists, but lead 5-1 in blocks, but FG is making it the difference. Charlotte shooting 46%, Pacers 33%. Indiana trails by 4 in the FT differential.
Not exactly the best half, but if we step up defensively even a little bit, there’s no reason why we can’t limit Charlotte’s points.
Granger and Rush lead with 7 points.
Slick says
Pacers need to come out meaner than a snake. Who need Clark Kellogg when you’ve got Slick? Haha
well
Gerald Wallace sure is fun to watch! The Pacers- not so much :(

I'm actually glad
I can’t watch it. Not only would I be watching a blowout, but I’d have to watch them wearing those hideous mustard jerseys, haha.
The Knicks 2nd half
Was like 20x less depressing than this game. Granger is doing everything he can… Always like 3 guys spying him… The rest of the team is playing like crap. Stephen Graham in his limited minutes is even making us look silly. Hell put in McBobs for the remainder of the game JOB!

There's really no excuse for this
Absolutely dreadful showing here on both sides of the ball for this team.
All that's happening is the team's trading baskets
Not exactly a formula for success if you’re Indiana.
ugh
My girlfriend just asked if there was time to see New Moon tonight… I don’t know what is worse- being at this game or putting up with Twilight again

Price playing hard
At least someone is.
Mark and Slick having a tough time handing out player of the game, finally succumb to giving it to Tyler Hansbrough because they’re in Carolina.
Ive been upset all week
this game wasnt going to be on tv. maybe the pacers knew something i didnt with not letting its fans watch this game, haha

Well, it's over.
Didn’t catch the final score. Don’t really want to. Hope they got it out of their system and come to play in Toronto. That one’s going to be a little harder than this one should’ve been.
Yeesh
Thanks for all of the comments. I could feel this clunker coming a mile away, but still held out hope it wouldn’t happen. I’m watching it now, will have more in a bit.
