UPDATE II: Bruno's Inside the Game LIVE blog is up. No Quisy, no Calderon. T.J. is a maybe.

UPDATE: J.O. addressed the media earlier today and Bruno has it covered.

The Pacers welcome Jermaine O'Neal back to town along with the Toronto Raptors on Friday night. According to a report on the Dakich show this morning, Jermaine O'Neal woke up ready to give it a go tonight. He won't start but he will be available according to Bob Kravitz.

Both teams don't care about who is ready to play or not since they're both desperate for W's. The Pacers will try to build on their nice win over the Pistons on Wednesday. The Pacers did a decent job of keeping the Pistons out of the lane and the Pistons pitched in by missing their share of perimeter shots. The Raptors always seem to knock down shots against the Pacers so contesting more of the outside shots is needed. The Pacers have to account for players like Jamario Moon, Jason Kapono and Anthony Parker because one of those types of players have burned the Pacers in the past.

Toronto's record

You’ve got Toronto’s record wrong in your chart, its actually 16-24. They’d probably be pretty excited if their record was actually 22-14.

Clank city

I’m assuming the Pacers will make some shots at some point.

Tor up 10-5

Pacers 2-9 from field.

Solomon is the ant-Calderon at PG

Kid is quick. He can get into the lane at will. ha ha

by Tom Lewis on Jan 16, 2009 7:22 PM EST reply actions

Nice 6-0 run for the Pacers.

by Tom Lewis on Jan 16, 2009 7:24 PM EST reply actions

Pacers up 17-13

JO now in with plenty of clapping fans. Can’t tell if there was much booing, hopefully not.

by Tom Lewis on Jan 16, 2009 7:27 PM EST reply actions

Tied at 20 after 1Q

TJ set up McRoberts but Josh took off a few feet early and couldn’t finish the dish.

by Tom Lewis on Jan 16, 2009 7:36 PM EST reply actions

You need some company?

It’s Friday, and it’s -25. Where else should I be except staying in and watching the Pacers?

by Gwen on Jan 16, 2009 7:41 PM EST reply actions

No doubt

I’m out in Seattle missing the fridgid cold. Hopefully the Pacers will warm up.

by Tom Lewis on Jan 16, 2009 7:42 PM EST up reply actions

I came in late

How are the Pacers defending the paint with Bosh and JO?

by Gwen on Jan 16, 2009 7:42 PM EST reply actions

Defense is pretty good so far. The Pacers started out shooting poorly, but have picked it up since starting 2 of 9.

by Tom Lewis on Jan 16, 2009 7:43 PM EST reply actions

I'm watching the Toronto feed...

and the announcers just said “And the Raptors are slowed down by the Pacer Defense.” How crazy does that sound?

by Gwen on Jan 16, 2009 7:46 PM EST reply actions

Pacers go 11 deep so far

Roy and Rush get some run.

Roy with the headband!

by Tom Lewis on Jan 16, 2009 7:49 PM EST reply actions

Missed Diener

Now all 12 actives have played.

Pacers up 37-30

by Tom Lewis on Jan 16, 2009 7:52 PM EST reply actions

Ummm

There’s some real live defense being played by the Pacers and it is even leading to easy buckets.

P’s up 41-30

by Tom Lewis on Jan 16, 2009 7:53 PM EST reply actions

Danny!!!

Nice O rebound and put back.

14 second quarter points for 33. Picked up two fouls though, 3 for the game.

by Tom Lewis on Jan 16, 2009 7:58 PM EST reply actions

Boom, baby

Murph and Dun with back-to-back 3-balls

Pacers up 54-40

by Tom Lewis on Jan 16, 2009 8:02 PM EST reply actions

If I saw Rasho on the street...

I wouldn’t think he could play basketball. He is a doughy man.

by Gwen on Jan 16, 2009 8:08 PM EST reply actions

ha ha

You are THE source on such matters.

by Tom Lewis on Jan 16, 2009 8:10 PM EST up reply actions

Pacers up 56-42 at the half

Diener just missed beating the clock.

Wow, pretty solid half at both ends. 36-point second quarter with active defense. Let’s see if they can make it last another 24 minutes. Love that all 12 played, too.

by Tom Lewis on Jan 16, 2009 8:10 PM EST reply actions

That THE question isn't it?

Can the Pacers keep it solid for the entire 48 minutes? It kills me to think that a grabbed rebound, one less turnover, ONE defensive stop is the difference between being above .500 and 14th in the Eastern Conference standings.

by Gwen on Jan 16, 2009 8:14 PM EST up reply actions

Foster and Murph

enjoying themselves. Nice easy bucket, too.

by Tom Lewis on Jan 16, 2009 8:26 PM EST reply actions

Danny!!!

Wow, Pacers are still playing well.

3-ball puts them up 19.

by Tom Lewis on Jan 16, 2009 8:29 PM EST reply actions

Now Dun fouls on shot attempt

Well, at least they’re out there contesting the shots.

by Tom Lewis on Jan 16, 2009 8:33 PM EST reply actions

Dun to Foster and 1

Beautiful…and he makes the FT

Pacers up 20

by Tom Lewis on Jan 16, 2009 8:35 PM EST reply actions

I don’t want to jinx anything considering we’re talking about Indiana, but it’s nice to just sit back and relax and watch. Ah.

by Gwen on Jan 16, 2009 8:38 PM EST reply actions

I'm nearly speechless

Pacers up 22

Some great buckets tonight!

by Tom Lewis on Jan 16, 2009 8:39 PM EST reply actions

Both teams are in the penalty with 5 minutes left in the 3rd

This is going to be a veeeerrrrrryyyyy loooooooooooooooooong game

by Gwen on Jan 16, 2009 8:43 PM EST reply actions

Tough but good call on McRoberts

Hell of an athletic play to attempt on the rebound.

by Tom Lewis on Jan 16, 2009 8:43 PM EST reply actions

5:00 left in 3Q

Josh and JO lock up in double foul. Gotta finish it strong. Raps trying to make a run.

by Tom Lewis on Jan 16, 2009 8:44 PM EST reply actions

Wow!

Josh picks up his 5th foul and a technical.

by Tom Lewis on Jan 16, 2009 8:44 PM EST reply actions

Timeout pacers up 22 with 2:37 left in 3Q

I’m trying to enjoy this but can’t help bracing for an implosion. Danny’s been on the bench most of the quarter too.

by Tom Lewis on Jan 16, 2009 8:49 PM EST reply actions

Nice

T.J. gives ’em a little and gets the roll.

by Tom Lewis on Jan 16, 2009 8:52 PM EST reply actions

End 3Q

Pacers up 89-65

T.J. closes it with another jumper. Finish it!!!

by Tom Lewis on Jan 16, 2009 8:55 PM EST reply actions

JO and I are the same age...

and he’s been in the league for what? 12 seasons? Crazy.

by Gwen on Jan 16, 2009 9:00 PM EST reply actions

Ack

Raps are making a furious charge. Things are getting testy. Danny shoved Bosh for little reason. Not smart.

89-72

by Tom Lewis on Jan 16, 2009 9:02 PM EST reply actions

Bosh is killin’ the pacers

Up 12

by Tom Lewis on Jan 16, 2009 9:11 PM EST reply actions

Ugh

great look for Danny. Come on!

by Tom Lewis on Jan 16, 2009 9:13 PM EST reply actions

Jack

just when you least suspect it.

by Tom Lewis on Jan 16, 2009 9:18 PM EST reply actions

Yes!!

TJ gets the steal and break away

by Tom Lewis on Jan 16, 2009 9:18 PM EST reply actions

Thank you TJ

We still can’t play defense

by Gwen on Jan 16, 2009 9:19 PM EST reply actions

Sheesh

I was hoping for a nice, easy(ier) win tonight

by Gwen on Jan 16, 2009 9:26 PM EST reply actions

Pacers ball up 1 with 57 seconds to play

Danny didn’t look like he wanted to shoot that last one.

by Tom Lewis on Jan 16, 2009 9:28 PM EST reply actions

Nice

Dun made ’em all and Kapono travelled again.

by Tom Lewis on Jan 16, 2009 9:30 PM EST reply actions

Nice move Danny

Takes Bosh to the hoop to put Pacers up 6

by Tom Lewis on Jan 16, 2009 9:31 PM EST reply actions

ACK!

Kapono hits an insane 3-ball.

Jack to line.

by Tom Lewis on Jan 16, 2009 9:33 PM EST reply actions

Jack hits both

19.6 left timeout.

Might want to defend the arc.

by Tom Lewis on Jan 16, 2009 9:34 PM EST reply actions

Whew

We beat a team that didn’t require a last second crazy shot! I can sleep better.

by Gwen on Jan 16, 2009 9:40 PM EST reply actions
