Whew!
The link on ESPN.com's main page reads: Sources: Ex-KU stars caught with pot at NBA camp. Gulp! I've had this feeling before. Brandon Rush is an "ex-KU star" and should be at the NBA rookie camp. No!!!!
Whew! Rush was not involved. Instead Mario Chalmers and Darrell Arthur were tossed from the camp when they were caught with their stash. In the grand scheme of things, this isn't a big deal. Sure it sullies Chalmers and Arthur a bit but shouldn't ruin their careers.
Larry Bird was high (sorry) on both of these guys heading into the draft and I wouldn't have been surprised if both were taken with the Pacers' two first round picks. Can you imagine? Maybe this risk came up with both during the team's due dilligence of checking out each draft prospect thoroughly which caused them both to drop.
Who knows? I'm just glad the Pacers don't have to deal it this time around.

Well,
I told you that Rush wasn’t that close with the rest of his teammates at KU. For once it looks like that his loner behavior payed off otherwise this could have been another black mark for Bird.

That's right!
The loner behavior came up huge this time.

Maybe Chalmers won’t be as successful as everyone thinks. There seems to be a better reasons why he dropped to the second round.

Well, Yes, But. . .
I don’t think we should take too much satisfaction regarding this turn of events.
Stuff like this is just plain bad for the league—and if it’s bad for the league, it’s
bad for everyone—including the Pacers.

Ditto
The Pacers are certainly the NBA franchise that can least afford to have something
like this happen right now.
The only reason I posted the remark is that during the past four years, after various
Pacer “scrapes,” for every comment I heard expressing disappointment with the
Pacers, I heard two expressing something like, “Man, I hate the NBA.”
As a big Pacer fan and a big NBA fan, this was always depressing to me.

off-topic, but...
Why is this whole last draft for the pacer gang, all about rush, I’ve seen little about the likes of Jarrett?
just watch someone is going to ask…
WHO?
I've no signature, but this is... well...you decide.

"Funny how everybody was talking about weak draft and trading this pick no matter what it was, but it was still disappointing when we didn't get #1. The most telling moment was when 11 of 14 NBA executives groaned in sympathy when Portland's name was announced at the 4-spot. We can still get a good player from this position though.
And come on now, really...had we gotten the #1 selection would we have been happy or just talking about how our cursed luck continues because this is the first year that high schoolers (and thus Greg Oden) aren't allowed in the draft? Save it for next year guys...save it for next year."

a tribute to what it was, and the way it was. Mad respect Dave.
