Larry Bird on The Drive with JMV

Larry Bird spoke with JMV this afternoon on WNDE. They talked about the Olympics, Slick smoking cigarettes during the upcoming preseason game at Pepsi Coliseum and George Jones lighting up the new casino in French Lick. Larry copped to 'stirring up a lot of stuff' with teammates as part of the Dream Team. He also thought Ricky Rubio was a ballboy crashing the layup line the first time he saw him play in person when Rubio was 14.

I was hoping a trading partner may take the cover of the Olympic hype to sneak in a trade for Tinsley, but it sounds like negotiations with other teams won't pick up until after Labor Day. Let's hope.

Nice work, BS. Keep pumping out the interview podcasts and I'll quit complaining to JMV.

A Noticeable Change?

Larry Bird seems more relaxed, more open, more confident, and more accessible
this year. Whether this results from the exodus of Donnie Walsh, some gentle
prodding on the part of Herb Simon, or a combination of both, it is nice to see.
