Larry Bird Talks Up The Draft

Larry Bird has a post on Pacers.com talking up the draft and the team's plans heading into the draft. He's certainly not trying to diminish anyone's expectations that the Pacers can find some help in the draft.

I’m not saying the 11th pick is going to be a savior, a guy who can put it all on his shoulders. But he will be another talented player to add to the strong core of young guys we already have. And who knows? Come draft night, we might even have a surprise or two in store for you.

He also mentioned allowing the media to attend workouts for draft prospects they bring in prior to the draft. If nothing else, we'll know which players are on the team's radar for both the first and second round picks.

Here's to hoping we're surprised with good news, not bad, on draft night.
